This is from the Trumpeter kit with the missile trailer. I only built the tractor so far. This kit was a very frustrating build, but still fun.

Looks pretty good. The only issue I see is the front windshield is fogged. The driver wouldn't be able to see out of it. Any way you could replace it?

Thanks. The fogged windshield was my fault. My homemade mask didn't work properly and some flat coat got on. Oh well, live and learn.
Now time to build the trailer and missile.

I think you could pass the windshield off as being dirty.
Great job on the weathering. I've always wanted to depict 4BO in that shade. Unfortunately, I've found too many references to the contrary. I'm not sure that the lower part of the doors would be that worn. It seems the fenders and running boards would keep them a little cleaner. The front bumper and winch look excellent, as do the wheels and tires!

Thanks for the comments. I'm still learning how to build and paint these things and I tend to paint them more artistically than realistically. Also, I don't have an airbrush, so I have to hand paint everything and do the modulations with oils.
I just put the missile together and puttied the seams. Now it's time to paint it. I tried handpainting using Vallejo white German tank crew, but the brush strokes are way too apparent for it to work. Since I can't spray this color, I'm thinking about trying something new. I'm going to paint it Tamiya German gray from the spray can, and then use white and gray oils to bring it up to the light gray it's supposed to be, along with highlights and shadows. I'll post pics of my experiment with this method soon.
I should get an airbrush soon. It might open up a whole new world for me. I also use a Mosin-Nagant headspace tool as a PE bender lol
Edit - tested this experiment. No good, brush strokes are way too apparent. Guess I'm going to have to get an airbrush for this part.

If I missed it, sorry but what was so frustrating about the build? It looks good to me and the windshield looks alright as it could just be fogging up naturally.
I've seen this kit before, I would pass on building the missile part and build it just like your first photo!
Sweet work!
