Dear fellow model collectors,

Here are just some thoughts about reviving two Tamiya U.S.Army figure kits, the older Combat set that was with the Halftrack and by itself and the newer set of 6 figures in combat. The trick is to correct the webgear first and foremost on the newer set. I scraped off the existing gear with various Xacto tools and added all DML web gear equipment that was appropriate on the original gear for each figure. The addition of DML gear is much more 3 dimentional and realistic.
Next the 8 figures are more of a challenge but not impossible as several uses include making a tank crew from three of the seated figures as I have read about by replacing heads from various sets, several of which could include the two piece heads from DML. As far as the standing figures the trimming of web gear and replacing with left over DML gear would really improve the looks as some of the figures can be converted by the old swap an arm theory.
Again these are my thoughts and opinions brought on by not only the need to use up the dozens of DML equipment over-issued sets but bring back to life some really old sets as well. My credit goes to photos by many great model builders that inspired me to use these sets to the best of my ability.
Good luck!

After replacing heads, equipment, hands and/or arms, and even boots, there is hardly any Tamiya left!
