Hi again:
This is my Jagdpanther from Itraleri. I posted some pics of it a pair of months ago (Jagdpanther in Progres...) now it´s near to be finished (I believe). It still rest some details on the rear and a wash and drybrushing in the tracks. Coments will be appreciated.

Thanks Dmd.
For the paint Job I used Model Master Enamels (Dunkelgelb & olivegrun) and Humbrol (German Red Brown). The mate coat is Model Master.
For painting the tracks first I airbrushed them with MM French Chesnut, then I brushed them with oil paints first with Raw Umber, and then with a mix of Raw Sienna and Permanent Orange. For brushing the oils I diluted them a little with Tupertine. Between each colour I waited a couple of days to let the oil dry.
Now I will finish the tracks with a dark oil wash with a mix of Raw Umber and Black, after taht drybrush with Silver where the tracks contact the terrain.

Outstanding Job. I love the subject and have seen them up close, you have a great kit going here. I was wondering if this is the kit barrel or aftermarket?

Thanks Tracy:
It´s an OOB build. The barrel is the one of the kit (Italeri).

That is a VERY well done ambush camo job. It is fantasticly done. I love the detailed painted extras too. Tracks are great, wheels are really nice.
Personally I would like to see a bit of pastel work done on it. The back end of it seems a bit dirty and the rest does not look quite as dirty.

I agree with you, I don´t like how the rear looks. I think I used to much putty and oils, I´m thinking that I have to do something there because I don´t want to spread dirt in other places of the kit.

I agree with the others that the paint Job is excellent.
Is this going to be an actual real unit or just a model?

Hi Petro:
A real unit. The idea that I have for the dio is a scene placed in Hungary in Feb or March 1945.
The StuH 42 is from the Stug Brig 303 (see the insignia). For the Jagdpanther yet I don´t know but I think it could be a vehicle of a Schwerer Panzer Jager Abt. atacched to the LSSAH (leibstandarte) division.
The Stug Brig 303 and the LSSAH were in Hungary in that period. The last one was sent there after the Ardennes, I have to make some research about if it had Pz. Jgr. Abt attached.
The ambush scheme was used there also because many vehicles were sent there after the Ardennes and the some Jagdpanters used in the Ard. had this scheme.
If someone can help me with this matter I´ll appreciate it.

Ok csch,
I am doing a little research for you. Here is what i have found so far.
This is taken from the book " Men of Steel" By Micheal Reynolds (The I SSPZ Corps from the Ardennes to the end of the war)
At the start of operation Spring Awakening (march 6 1945) the SSLAH did not appear to have any Jagdpanthers, just JgdPZIVs. (although at my current research, this doesn't specifically say that for the SSLAH).
But, The 12SS HJ division's Scwere PzJGr Abt had 14 Jgdpz IV and Vs combat ready. (the 560th heavy PzJgr battalion)
I am going to look up The II SS Pz corps strengths next, seeing they were also involved with the same Operation.
Edit.....
My info on the II SS PZ Corps turned up nothing.
Hope this helps alittle.

Thanks Petro for your time. Your info is much appriciated. I have a lot of doubts about this matter of the Pzr. Jgr. Abts.
As I know the 560 s.SS.Pz..Jgr.Abt. only had one company of Jagdpanther and it was only one vehicle Co. that was attached to the 12SS Pz. Div. This was for the Ardennes Of.
I don´t have info on what had happend after that time.
It would be great if you help me in the search of info. Thanks a lot.

This is awesome, CSCH.
The paint job is spotless (no pun intended) #:-)
Another thing I like to really praise ya on, is how accurate and well you had duplicated the high magnism content tracks on the Panther/jagdpanther tracks. the orangish color is dead on.
The MG barrel is very well drilled out, (I always have problem with that).
Great work. it shows with outstanding painting skill, even a kit built OOB can stand out! Congratulatons on an awesome display of craftmanship.

Thanks SS-74:
I also have problems when I drill the gun barrels. This came out ok, but not always is the same, I ruined lots of MGs. First I start with a needle trying to punch the center and when a little hole is made I change to a little drill.

Hi Petro:
I found something in the web:
Independent Anti-Tank Units of the Wehrmacht
by James A. Broshot and Jason Long
http://members.tripod.com/~Sturmvogel/pzjgabt.htm
schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 560 (Panther) (26 May 44):
16 Dec 44 attached to 12th SS-Panzer-Division, I SS-Panzer Corps, 6th Panzer Army for “Wacht Am Rhein” with two companies Jagdpanzer IV/70s, one company Jagdpanthers
Jan 45 12 Jagdpanthers issued
Feb-Mar 45 Hungary, attached to 12th SS-Panzer-Division, I SS-Panzer Corps, 6th SS-Panzer Army
3 Mar 45 6 Jagdpanthers and 8 Panzerjäger IV ready for combat
10 Mar 45 4 Jagdpanthers and 1 Panzerjäger IV ready for combat
Mar 45 11 Jagdpanthers issued
This info says that there were Jagdpanthers attached to the 12th SS Pz. Div. in Hungary in Feb - Mar 45, they were retreated from the Ardennes, so it´s posible that there were vehicles vehicles wiyh Ambush camo.
