Time for another update. I have been trying to find time to work on this project. I have to admit I also got a little burned out on it for awhile as there was just so much to do. Well I'm back at and feeling good about it.

Most of the interior painting is finished for the turret halves. The cab of the vehicle has also been mostly completed. I have not yet weathered anything, that will be later. Anyway on to some pics.

ZZ-73 sight (focused this time)

Another shot

Left turret half outer shell

Left wall console. Need to clean up some of this one.

Left Turret half inner wall

Left half crew area

Left side, shell carrier

Right side outer wall

Right outer wall, crew section

Right inner wall crew section

Projo carousel

Front cab, still have to complete some more things up here, but it's mostly complete

And the engine. This will be weathered too, way to clean now.

Well, there you go. Comments always welcome

Nice work Cory. Just caught this one. Good eye for the detail. It's pulling together nicely.

Small update on this project. I ran into a problem though.

One of my daughters decided to rearrange my model room in the middle of the night. After I saw that everything had been put in a new place, I was too frustrated to do anything about it. She then put everything back as close to where it started as she could. By everything I mean she emptied the paint racks, put the Dana up in the box, put all my tools in one spot on the desk, I mean everything was moved. She put most of it back where it had started, or at least close to where it started.

One part that I can not find however is a hatch from the turret of the Dana. I have no idea what happened to it. I have looked everywhere I can think of and still have not been able to find it. On that note, if anyone has the kit and is willing to cast part L16 for me I would be eternally grateful. I tried contacting Hobbyboss but had some sort of error in the email process that I could not understand.

Anyway, here is the Dana as she sits at the moment.

This is the name of my gun. The tator tot is something specific for my model club. Houfnice is Czech for howitzer.

Here is some detail from the gun cradle and breach area.

More from the breach area. This is also the conveyer belt that carries away the spent cases after firing.

Rear end of the turret.

Left side of turret.

Left side of turret interior.

Right side of turret.

So there's where she sits. Again, if anybody has the kit and can cast a copy of part L16 I would be willing to pay something.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Considering all the work you've put in already, wouldn't it be really simple just to scratch build a replacement for the part?

I'm trying to scratch it, but not having the best of luck with it so far. I may create something and "hide" it under a jacket or something.

Be still my beating heart, you painted a CAMOUFLAGE scheme on the Dana...

BTW, what does that hatch look like?? I'm sure that it could be scratched.

This is better than the Stryker with the trucknuts

jjruiz,

I wont hold you to anything, but if you could help it would be great!

Onkos1, PM sent.

And yes, I know the camouflage is not my comfort zone, but once I finish this kit, it's back to uni-color.

i got the part you need....it appears it was glued on at one point and it is missing one of the hinge tits....but that should be very easy to fix once its on the turret.

shoot me a pm with your addy and i will get it out as soon as i can....i work a lot of hours and it may be a cpl days or more before i can get it out

The DANA is alive again thanks to James Ruiz, thank you very much brother!

This is just the battery and battery compartment on the left rear box of the hull.

Your Dana is looking great.I have been wanting to get one but have waited because of wanting to be able to get a metal barrel and to build a Polish version in Afghanistan.

Thanks Jason. I may have gone a little too far with scratching the interior and all, but I'm in to it now, and I really do want to finish it.
