So, after about half a year my Italeri M923A1 truck is almost finished. This is the last post with pictures of it on this forum, as I try to follow the rules and will show it in the gallery when it is finished.
All that is left to be done is:
- some airbrush dusting with Tamiya Buff as currently the sides of cargo bed and cab are not dusted, while the suspension already is.
- add a front section of the cargo bed tarpaulin on the single bow, right behind the cab.
- add some stuff on the cargo bad, incl. rolled tarpaulin, stored tarps bows etc.
- add a piece of rope to the spare wheel (instead of metal bracket that is normally there, as this is the way Marines secured spare wheels on their trucks during the operation Provide Comfort and my model is one of these trucks).

Most of you probably don't know or remember that my model was originally built by me a few years ago, but not finished and several months ago I disassembled it and started building it again.

Here is how it looked in January this year, before disassembly:

And here is how it looks today:

And here are some more photos (this time I decided to show better quality images, so they are over 150 KB each!):

Lovely beast Vodnik. I'm not an expert at all, but the only thing looking a bit "strange" to me is the camo pattern on the floor at the back of the truck. Do they use to camo it as well?

Very nice finished job Pawel. The Italeri kit never looked so good. Also, yes, for the time period Pawel is modeling, the camo pattern extending through the cargo bed is correct.

Hi Fabio,
Yes, they do. I used the camo pattern from official US Army painting manual. Take a look at these photos in Sabot's Motorpool:

Newer trucks and replacement canvas covers are coming with the NATO pattern extending on the canvas itself. We've recently ordered some, but they have not come in yet.

Rob,
My truck will have the old style, single color, two part canvas cover. The smaller front part will be hanging on its bow, but the large main part will be rolled on the floor of the truck bed. Again - that's the way Marines had it on their trucks in 1991 in northern Iraq.

Pawel

Well done, everywhere you look there is improvement. Well done. Couragious of you to re-do a previous kit like that.

I think that it looks great. Very realistic, especially the weathering.

Great job Pawel!
I really like the tires. Very realistic weathering job. I can never get mine to look the way I want. How did you do it?

Beautiful model! I have just started tinkering with this kit and can fully appreciate the time you had to put in to this thing! Nice weathering and great details!

After painting tires dark grey with enamel paint and some dusting with Model Master "rubber" paint (I think it is no longer available - it was very dark brown color) I used a thin mixture of water, dish washing fluid and Tamiya Buff paint to cover the tire tread. Later I rolled a Q-tip dipped in a dark grey paint around tires, to make the surfaces of rubber blocks dark again.

Really fine finish Vodnik. Everything looks perfect! I think you should also show an in progress picture or two or add a link to it, as I remember seeing on your site, the stages to this standard. The paint hides soome of the extra work you have done!
It would be nice to see a picture of the cab interior if it is possible! Masterclass!!!
