Looks like the truck pictured in the album is fitted with the all-composite cab built by TPI :
"The prototype cab is the result of a two-year R&D program with the U.S. Army TARDEC and will be used for the HEMTT A-3 truck (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck), manufactured by Oshkosh Truck. TPI collaborated on this project with Oshkosh Truck Corporation, maker of the HEMTT truck, and the University of Delaware’s Center for Composite Materials".

Hi pascal, on my pc it doesn't
This looks like an A4 Version.
I have found a little bit time to build on my HEMTT. After a fine rub i glued the doors on the Cab. Then i make 4 of the last six segment of the armorplates, the backwall plates and the undersideplates, tomorrow i scratched the other two.
here are the pics, like in the book:
here with the o-gpk turret, can i use to this kombination or not?
I build to the v-shaped center blast deflector, the original doesn't have, but i complement it. More protection for my HEMTT
I decide to build a 'mix-HEMTT', the older versions have a winch placed at the right side of the frame,
and the newer versions have a bigger winch on the sparetyre plate behind the engine,
I see in the book that the M983 have a other version of suspension, not like the older versions. My HEMTT get the older suspension, but the newer winch type, i like this kombi more. Also this version of M983 doesn't exist.
And i will mount this type of fueltank protection:
Can give me anyone please a name of this protection?

Hi frenchy, the green prototype cab is the armored cab for the A3-A4 variants. Maybe my HEMTT is a A2 Version, the suspension is different how on the A1, A3 and A4 HEMTT's.
But thanks for these great pics they help me a lot.

Wow, this is a very cool project. I'm surprise there is no conversion for this kind of truck. I like what you are doing and I'm taking notes left and right...

O, then i thank you both for the pictures
Thanks Mike, yeah its pretty shame that is no cab conversion for the HEMTT trucks available. Maybe soon, from the CPK model A & B its would be very nice, conversion manufacturers! But i learn many when i scratched such cabs and so on.

Yeah the cab is finished. and it fit perfect on the frame.
The details i build on when the frame and the other things are finished, so can't brake any detailparts from the cab.
I scratched the little box right of the frame with plasticsheet and rests of photoeached parts and a little piece of wire.
I think the next step is to cut the frame, scratching all the missing parts of the rear.

Some of these companies think if they make these conver no one will buy them but we are modelers, if you build it people will buy it. If people are responding to these post it only relays the 100s to 1000s who don't that want these kits and will buy them. For example if you build a M983 and a Patriot launcher in plastic people will buy it. Look at the responce Mother got when people saw his scratch build of it. As for the numerous conver you could do for Hemmit they would sale. If you are doing them why keep them secret why people are going to it anyway just my 2 cents.

Thanks Guys.
@ pascal: I know that the platform is not made with plain steel.
But i didn't have mesh in this scale, so i have used a plate for this area.
I have build the box that is placed on the platform in opened position. What can i take in this boxes from such a Truck I did not take only chains in this boxes, what can i use to?
I started to build on the little parts of the cab, mirrors the door hinges and so on.

I think that you can find some mesh here :
http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Etched_Brass_Frets___Photo_decoupe.html
With all your scratch work on this truck,it is a pity, to make this part incorrect. I hope you can find something better than this plain platform

Hi pascal, i think i use this: http://www.architektur-langenhagen.com/index.php/katalog/artikelinfo/10019-1-show-alu_streckgitter_30_x_18_mm.html
What do you think?
But how is the whinch on this platform atached, did you have pics?
And how show the platform with this mesh on the frames? The mesh alone can't hold the whinch?

Simply amazing scratch work! Everything is so symmetrical
and even, Ive always had a soft spot for armored trucks and
HEMTTS. Once again, extremely nice build!

Here one pic from the mesh and frame i find in the TM
For the mesh you are finding, the thikness is not known that can cause a problem
As Scale Link products are PE sheets, their thickness will be more accurate.
For the self recovery winch, as you have only one pic from it, I believe that the best solution is making the oldest version.

Thanks for the comment Calvin and for the pics Pascal. The self recovery winch is that not the same that used on the M1070 truck? Only that the M1070 had two of these winches. :-)
And of the older winch i have no concrete pics of the details, just from the side.
To the end of the year i have a little update for you. The cab has became two recovery eyes, two window frames, the rear had now two mud rags, and the two slant parts behind the fifth wheel.
With this Update i say goodbye for this year, i wish you all a happy new year and a good modelbuilder year 2013.
