Thank you, Bill.
I fixed the door, so that it lines up with the hinge. In a couple of months, I should be able to start on the interior. Does anybody know if the TWS interior set includes the turret interior? If not, I'll pick up the Verlinden interior as well.

Vegard: Thank you.
I'm am finding this build to be very enjoyable. Although it does not have the improved suspension components and multi-part wheels, as on Dragon's newer pz.IVs, I highly recommend it. As I stated, before there are some fit issues with the photo-etch. However, these are minor. There are tons of pe and resin sets available, but I wanted something a little more simple.

Didn't get much done on the tank, but I started on the crew. It will be a mix of Tamiya and Tank figures.

Not much more progress, on the panzer. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to repaint and weather the road wheels. This will bring me to the tracks, which I'm waiting for. There will be a long pause, until I get the interior ordered. So, a little more on the figures.

I'm not sure if I will use the last figure. I just can't seem to find a position for him.

Got a little tiny bit of work done, over the past couple of days. I also received a new tip, for my airbrush. The fading was a mistake, but I like it. I will complete the wheels, once I return from my grandmother's. I do plan on adding a pin wash, but that is far down the road. I will be giving this tank an interior. But, that is even further down the road.

The African desert sure is dusty.

Where did you learn to paint figures? Any hints for a newbie?

Thanks.

As for the figures. They aren't high quality. And, I learned from practice and paying attention to the forums. There are many, many builders far better than I. Normally, I prime the figures white. Then, I spray or paint the exposed flesh. I mask off what I have sprayed. After that, I spray the rest with the most common color. This is usually the lightest shade of the uniform. I go back, with a detail brush and pick out things like buttons and straps/belts. I will paint up everything that is not flesh. For folds, mix a little bit of the base color with a slightly darker shade and dry brush it on. Then, pick out the edges with the same technique, but mixing with a slightly lighter shade. Apply a brown wash, over the entire model. For eyes, I used Testors dark tan. For the lips, Testors light tan. If you have any specific questions, I can be much more comprehensive.

I highly recommend this thread:
