I am getting into painting figures more and more, expecially fantasy/horror figures. I am looking into investing in an airbrush capable of EXTREMELY fine lines (for use painting folds of clothes, muscle outlines, etc). Anyone have any ideas of brushes that may fit my bill?

If you want to go the expensive, and I do mean expensive , you could get a Paasche Turbine airbrush. I belive they make the finest lines possible. However, you can probably use almost any airbrush. Just thin the paint very well and use low pressure.

Jeff,
You might also want to look at AWATA's too. I know in the airbrussh magazine, it is used alot for illustarations and graphics art work.

Jeff,
I have a couple of suggestions, both are Iwata airbrushes. If price is not a problem then check out the Iwata Custom Micron B. If you are on a tighter budget try the Iwata HP-B. I have one of these and I love it. You can get a very fine line on up to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch line. Below is a link to reviews on these two brushes and a couple more on ML

I agree with Kelley.. I have an Iwata HP B and absolutely love it. Of course I really don't use it to get hairlines, but it is very capable of getting close.

I have a badger 350 myself so I can' t say if it's true or not, but on the Testor's Scale Workshop videos, I believe the guy who does them (Bret Green?) says the Aztek easily does 2mm lines.
Here's the link if you're interested.

I believe it is video #3.

Provided you use the TAN tip on the Aztec.
I used it this weekend and got some pretty small lines.
Small enough that in the shade of an afternoon sun it was hard to see the new color over my base since there wasnt a lot of contrast between them.
(0) Line was about that big, at 30 psi.

I bet my money on a Tamiya HG Super Fine airbrush (I use one). It gives you a finer spray.
