Dan- I must say that your groundwork is coming on beautifully- the angle and elevation suit the tank to perfection.

Thanks Karl and John,

I've been busy laying down the grass tonight, borrowed a static grass machine from a good friend who helped me make some diorama
signs and a name plate. Anyway here is the fruits of my time tonight, still some way to go but things are looking better. Static grass is from Verlinden and glued into place with watered down PVA glue.

Waiting on some PE ferns just to add to the base. more picture later once I've sorted out a few things.

Have a good weekend folks

Some closeups of the sign I made,
These were placed around Soviet training areas to notify
Foreign Military missions to keep out of training areas whilst
troops were exercising. Google Brixmis and Soxmis to find out more,
but basically it was Int gathering by allied and Soviet troops during the cold War.
I still have my Soxmis card today, also remember chasing off the Soxmis guys
whilst on Exercise in Soltau.

Soxmis card issued to all BAOR troops.

Enjoy

Thanks Karl,
I've managed to get some a little more work done last night, the grass areas have has a light patch spray of Lifecolor Tensocrom
Grass just to break up the colour a bit more and add some depth,
the trackbed has also had some dust added and I lighty oversprayed the grass areas which are close, just to give that dusty appearance. I used Lifecolor dust 1 and dust 2 which gives a close match for a limestone effect that i was after.
The grass tufts have bee further refined to stop them looking like Wayne Rooney's hair transplant, I think I'll add a few more .

Anyway enjoy the pictures

Great work Dan! I love the sign off to the side. Its suprising how something that simple can give a scene such character.

Right folks, thank you all for your comments,
I've really enjoyed this build so here are some more
photo's for you to enjoy. I'm calling this one finished
now. Please excuse the photo's, I've acquired a Canon 400D camera and this is the very first outing so I'm still trying to understand how these all singing dancing cameras work.

Thank you all, stay tuned for the SKIF 2S1.....

Thanks Phillipe,

Just a couple more pictures which I have just taken, the plaque needs to be re done as it's not really level, it's just printed onto metallic paper and I was rushing like a to get it finished.
