UK Armor Fans:
Does anyone know or have interior layout info, on the REME M3
Halftracks that were used for repair. Looking for info on the one with raised rear compartment and assembly JIB on the front. Any help appreciated. TIA

The differences between an M5 and the M3 halftrack are much more extensive than that. If you really want to go down that road (coverting a DML M3 HT into an M5), contact me offsite. The list of changes is lengthy (but not impossible)

From the dim recesses of my memory is the recollection that there were, indeed, some M3s in REME service. The same recollection says that these were pretty much the only M3s in Brit service. The question is, were these primarily post war vehicles? Dunno, but perhaps some avenues for further research?

David,Roy,Paul,Malcom;
Thanx for such a quick response.David & Roy: No task to daunting, if you could send the info you have, it'd be Greatly appreciated: [email protected] . Just give me a heads up if you send & I'll keep alert.
Malcom: Great link, info there I had not seen before.
If I can get interior layout on info, I think I can pull this one off. I have a pretty good start on exterior shots, so the mods aren't that tough. I guess I could just leave it buttoned up, I also have the Hunnicutt Halftrack volume and Osprey M3 book, as well as a few other titles. This project has been stalled,cause I really didn't have much on the REME
version, so any help would see it thru to an addition to my
collection. Thanx in advance for all U do.!! TODD

You could also use the old Monogram kit for the wings and axle. let me know if they get there.

One day I`ll get mine finished, the vehicle is built (no interior), just need to finish the jib and put it on a base.
These vehicle types had left service a few years before I joined the REME and I went straight on to FV434`s.
Would have been interesting to use that jib arrangement with no lateral movement to play with.

Conqueror was also consigned to museums and the ranges well before I was active.
I haven`t seen many pictures of the ARV version in service, at all.
It will be like looking for hens teeth, I reckon.
