Crossing my fingers, on this one. The rest of the catalog has some interesting kits, as well.

I would be interested myself in building one. Would make a interesting break from all the WWII armor I've been building for the last 2 plus years.

It's very "doable" now as the Land Rover WMIK kits and Airfix Jackal show that thin rollbars could be made in 1/35 and 1/48 plastic. I guess it all boils down to politics between the manufacturer and model kit company.
Funny thing is that there are still a lot of FAV-type and SOF vehicles out there that a company could make from German to IDF to even ATVs and Polaris golf carts.

I remember that, although it is odd that they have "NEW" on the picture. Was it like that last year?

The FAV/DPV rumor dates back to Dragon Models way back in 1993...that's how long it has been. HobbyBoss picked up the FAV kit idea right near the start of the HobbyBoss company. So far, no 1/35 accurate DPV/FAV THREE SEAT kit exists.
Odd because a 1:6 toy of the DPV was made and very odd too because there is a scratchbuilt 1/35 DPV someone made right here in the Armorama gallery (looks pretty accurate too). So when it comes to accuracy and legal rights, it's as if that part has already been crossed.

Yes
The photo shows two version of FAV. I hope Hobbyboss will make the two versions.

Thing is both are by Chenowth...the dune buggy DPV that is now in storage and has been used in 1991 Gulf War, Afghanistan, and perhaps Iraq, and the newer LSV---Light Strike Vehicle. LSV's missions and successes have yet to be disclosed.
Issue was (probably still is), Chenowth wants a lot of money to use their name and rights. DML thought the price for the license wasn't worth the cost of the kit...DML decided it couldn't make a profit.
I sure hope to buy and build one in -heh- my lifetime!

Did a representative from HobbyBoss ever post here? I recall some official company representatives from other model kit manufacturers posted here before, but I don't recall one from HobbyBoss.
Perhaps some webstores in Asia know the answer to this question as they may attend the model kit shows.

I hope my references wandering up on HobbyBoss/Trumpeter stash.
My contact at Trumpeter ensured me that my references will be used "someday".

Five and a half years later and still waiting......Squadron had them for a very short while and then sold out but none have shown up anywhere else including eBay. Very strange
