JP Morgan and I are working on a re-run of the MLM Leopard C2 MEXAS. The plan is to have it done in volume by HKCW as we did with both the Leopard C1 and Leopard C1 (late) kits. It will take a few months for this to be realized into a product for sale but the process has begun.
At this time I am looking for some feedback from the viewers here. Option 1 that I am considering is releasing a complete conversion for the C2 MEXAS as one kit, with all the necessary parts to convert any Revell/Italeri Leopard 1 hull into a C2 MEXAS. Thus parts that normally came with the C2 kit such as the A5 rubber armour would not be included. Option 2 is to do them as two separate kits, but you would end up with surplus parts if you did the MEXAS.
So this is an unofficial poll. Reply Option 1 if you want to see a complete C2 MEXAS conversion, or Option 2 if you want two separate kits. Note that if we go option 1, a follow on kit would likely be a C2 with options to make an OPFOR tank.
Once we ket the ball rolling some of the other MLM items such as the 1 metre turret.
Cheers!
PS From now on you can harass me about when it is coming out and give JP a break!

I say option 1 also, that way you can pick and choose which version to build and still have parts left over for a future project.
Another question, is this going to be a limited run kit? Right now I'll try to save up some money for the kit, but as of now is looking like I won't have the money anytime soon. I've been wanting to build the mexas just like everyone else has and like to order one later down the road.

It was just mentioned that another manufacturer was working on a Mexas conversion. Nothing was mentioned on who or what.
EDIT: I voted over on the Modern Canadian Forum already so didn't want to vote twice (option 1)

Option 1 Please.
Would there be any major changes required to make an Afgan deployed tank? (I havn't done any research into this as yet).
Thanks

Option 1. The Italeri 1A2 kit is always cheaper than the 1A5 kit or are saying it would be a complete resin turret?

It will have completely new turret, so essentially any Leopard 1 chassis will work.

No, the original MLM kits required the basic C2 conversion plus the C2 MEXAS conversion to be added to the Revell Leopard 1A5 kit hull and turret.

I'd go with option 1 as well, would this kit bring it up to Afghan theatre standards?

A basic C2 MEXAS conversion without the thermal covers on the turret and hull would be applicable between the first tour in October 2006 up to June 2007...after June 2007 the thermal covers were used on all Leopard C2 MEXAS.
