Got this kit at an AMPS Christmas Party back in December. I've been building this rather slowly since it is Finals week at my High School and have not had much time for anything but school anymore.
I was really surprised by the simplicity of this particular kit. It was nice change of pace for a bit.
I got some paint on it tonight and am hoping to get more done tomorrow. The olive drab color I'm using is a mix of Tamiya olive drab and Tamiya Dark yellow.
I will have more to come as the week progresses, now to just let the paint dry.

Like your choice of paint. I use basically the same mix of Tamiya OD with Dark Yellow for all USA OD. By increasing or decreasing the ratio of Dark Yellow, simulating fading areas and color modulation for shadows is that much easier.

Hey Trevor, nice start and good color. It's an oldie, but still a good kit. Wont take much to tweak it up at all. Have one in the stash still, other was a Vietnamese version But forgot it at the hobby store in Orlando when I moved. Want to do the stashed one up like that again but it will be much better now because of Armorama and all the great modelers here that help out. I do hope you plan a dio for this kit, just looks better with some ground work and a T.C. in the hatch. Will be watching your build with interest. bob d.

Just some more work from this afternoon/evening. I got the decals on and still need to seal them with a coat of future. I have a nice base that a teacher at my school gave me that I could make a dio with. I haven't really done much with dio's or vignettes (spell-check on that). So I'm still a noobie in that field of building.

I'm not entirely sure about what version or a dio for it. I do not know what to do for a dio it. I'm still new in that field, any suggestions for how to build one?

Had some fun with the streaking effects and fuel effects. Also starting on the tracks.

I believe the US version didn’t see any action during the Vietnam conflict so I’m a little uncertain if you could portray an US one in this theatre. See also this thread https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/64526&page=1
I wouldn’t mind if you did place it in Vietnam with some artistic license, maybe on a small dirt road or on a Fire Base with a figure and some accessories. (Or you could do the scene from Full Metal Jacket that has a M41 in USMC service)

Thanks a bunch. I have seen FMJ (own a copy actually) have been considering that. I think I will just decide when the moment comes though.
