no photo this time... done a wash for the interior and matted it down, going to do some detail painting (the saw for example - it really adds to the cab) and weathering of the interior... the "rust" paint arrived today, as you cant see the bonnet I have give that a blast of rust and will try hairspray & grey on it before adding the armoured bonnet.... tracks also lightly coated rust, will be washed and weathered once attached to the running gear...

hoping for a quiet friday evening/weekend so hope to have quite a bit done on the interior and tracks/wheels.... photos as i go

started body work. Armoured bonnet, grill and windscreen - only placed on as will need to put this all upside down to do the rear body work....

and I think I prefer a bundle over the bonnet rather than down the side of the wheel arch... maybe something else can go there

Wow, looks kind of sinister with the armour added, like there should be some Cybermen driving it.

haha - its not the worst bolt on armour I have seen... some of the other Sd.KFZ 10 had even more...

anyway - just a couple of additions. Completed the brackets on the 2nd side and done the 2 rear number plate brackets.

Just the tools and their brackets, the canvas cover additions and rear light/reflectors to do and she will be done for the body work - then the gun...

Started on the tools today - the instructions for the PE wernt 100% clear and the photos on the Eduard site didnt have the axe in... anyway, needs a little more attention but the axe & pick-axe are on... next spade & bolt cutters (may leave one of them out in the back for variety).... oh yes and the last pic is me playing with storage again...

in order to rest my eyes I have stopped with the fiddly PE (only have the wing mirrors to do however) and moved on to the gun.... must say it goes together very easily - needs a little filling but the photos show how good it looks on the carriage

managed to shape the gun shield (2 parts) into something resembling the correct shape and mounted it last night.. 3 boxes, 2 wheels, 2 wing mirrors and then the building is done.... hoping for more progress tonight but think that will be limited, but this should be heading to the paint shop by the weekend......

gun done, just wing mirrors left now... still not convinced the AM wheels are right - they are smaller than the kit ones so might not work - going to wait til chassis painted and rear tracks mounted before deciding - will mean more painting at that stage but better than wasting some nice resin. Then can weather all at once for mud/dust etc...

finally got all the small PE done... off to the paint shop...

grey primer on... must say the Value Gear AM stuff looks very nice - going to spend some time working out how best to paint it. Not sure on my tarp over the wheel - may work once all in place... tow cable abandoned I think - cant get the wire I have to bend nicely... tried annealing it...

nice to see the old dear all one colour (think I should not've painted the inside first - masking it was a 'mare)

photos later perhaps - bit boring all light grey...

Rob, yes, the metal extras on it look good, nice and thin.

That gun must have given a lot of stress when it was fired on that not very big vehicle.

In fact someone commented the other day that it was almost their favourite bit of the build - when it was all under a uniform colour primer!

thanks both... and now she (can you call an AFV a she?) is Dunkelb - still not 100% on the colour - still looking green - should it be?

did some pre-shading and some colour modulation (my first time but think it does break it all up)....

also started on the sundries - boxes & tarps etc - again my first time so still learning (like the highlights on the tarps is a little too stark - need to tone that down)....

ARGH - seem to have misplaced the decals for the kit - dont suppose anyone has it in their stash and not wanting the decals.... or someone with a number plate and tactical markings (seems to be a triangle with 2 circles on the bottom)...guess I could hand paint some but....

You model is looking very nice, the gun is well detailed.

I am always suprised at the Germans ability to mount an anti tank gun on the smallest of vehicles.

cheers Steve, yes I like the Germanic utilisation... Am i right in thinking there is a PzIV with the 88mm AA gun mounted on it - so just the chassis and lower body then the gun & shield mounted....

lots more Sd.KFZ 10 variants for me to hunt down as/when my stash needs building upon ;-)

I believe that you are correct with reference to the Panzer IV, it would be a great model.

some quick measuring vs a reference photo showed that the AM wheels are a good size, so using those. have blu-tac'd the running gear in place so I could see how the wheels look before painting, look good to me so going to hit them with paint now....

a little bit of oil dot filter. wanted to fade the bonnet, gun armour and the sides where the crew would climb in/out. Awaiting decals then can do that, matt it all down and attack the weathering some more....

ok - tried true earth dark wear but not 100% ceratin... managed ok with pin wash of it but general wash just made it look yuk - maybe too much...

anyway, progress today sees all parts on - needs a bit of mud/dust - maybe some chipping....
