G'day Damon,
Casting wise, nothing. Nothing at all. I think I'm just showing off!
All joking aside, same method of casting, but it is the complexity of some of the parts that had me worried for some time.
How thin can I make the attachment points?
Will the mould collapse in on it's self when the resin and mould is pressured?
Will the parts be too thin and snap off in the mould?
Will the modeller be able to remove the attachment points with out damaging the part?
Lots of questions.
And wondering why other resin manufactures can not do the same.
Mostly, I could not care less if the master survived the mould making process or not. So long as the mould is good, the casts will be good and I can use the first cast's as future masters.
99% of the time, I can tell straight away if the mould will work or not when I'm making it. If I think it will fail, then I stop pouring the rubber, and save the master.
However, with this job, the master parts were so complex and pretty, that I was very worried about damaging them.
In fact, the masters are so nice, I'm going to embed them in clear resin.
Cheers Jason

Awesome. Looking forward to seeing more like this from you. In all honesty I thought that part was a live resin cast when I first saw it, it's that nice. Congratulations.

If there aren't any proprietary concerns of issues, could you tell us who did the mastering and show us the masters?
I agree the casting is superb, but I'd really like to see the masters and know who did them just to acknowledge the guy's work.

After some slight prodding by my partners in crime, I suppose I had better own up.
I made the master.
The information required to build it was largely supplied by Mouse House Enterprises, and as you can see the casting done by Arms Corps Models. Even I'm impressed by how well it turned out, as I had a few doubts about some parts coming out right. So well done that man.
These are some of the photos I took prior to sending the parts off.
Provided I formatted the links correctly, click to embiggen.
And finally fitted with a Tasca M2 .50cal This was chosen because it was the most detailed M2 I had, and it has the rear mounting lugs required to mate it to the mount. Other brands may require a small amount of alteration to fit.
Thank you all for the kind comments, and to head off other obvious questions. Yes, I have made some other masters but I will let the respective people make their own announcements as and when they become available, and Yes, there are other things I am working on and as before: as and when they become available.

Thanks for sharing the photos, Michael.
Very nice work, indeed. It's also very nice to know who to credit for it.
Cheers,

Extremely well done. And thanks for pointing out some of the challenges on making molds. I get emails all the time that use the phrase "all you have to do is....".
Often times there is much, much more to it than that. And a little tear in the silicone, a tiny piece pulled out on a corner detail or undercut somewhere and all that time and silicone is now worthless. Not to mention that often times on really small pieces the master you spent days on is often damaged in freeing it from the mold so that first mold had better work! (I do the same as you and use the first castings as masters)
That's why when I see work like this I am very vocal in my appreciation. I understand the amount of work that goes into getting that final cast piece. You do excellent work and you should be very proud!
