Sounds great, DML doing big kits? Too bad they don't have anything about it on their site yet.

Considering it's DML it just might.

I suspect this has been made specifically for their large figures.

Actually this is their second 1/6 sherman; they released and M4A2 last year. It was awful, solid hatch handles, an ermoured ventilator cover that looked like an upturned dinner plate. It was spectacular in one regard, despite being infinitely larger then their 1/35 versions it had LESS detail

put quot It is stated that the wheels can rotate, the turret will turn, and even though it is big molding, there will be no deformation in the parts.

Sounds like it was aimed squarely at the "action figure" market then. Was the price in line with GI Joe vehicles?

HaHa, Jason...divorce papers, that's hilarious man. Anyways, this certainly looks too large for my work/display space, not to mention my wallet. I'm only in 35th and 48th kits but for large scale and action enthusiasts, I do hope this is better than their previous one.

Yes, it's for those who need more armor support for thier 'battle Barbies'.

It was actually an M4A3 and I would say that this "kit" will just be the dissasembled version of that with new parts for the 105 Turret details. I would not expect high levels of detail.

MSRP for the kit, also DML only says the 105mm howitzer is a new tool. So it's very likely the old 1/6th M4.

Unbelievable. Not only wouldn't I have any place to properly display it, but with a $400 price tag, there is little to no chance of getting approval from the chief financial officer (my loving wife). And even if I did, it's way too big for my rather smallish workbench.
Just wondering what kind of market share DML is looking for with a nitch kit like this.

I checked around online. It's not even a model, but, preassembled, at that. Nearly 800 simolians is a sizable piece of mazooma.

Chris, DML have never released an M4A2 in battle Barbie scale. They offered a pre built M4A3 75mm and this latest release is the same in kit form like they did with the pz II before.
It is pretty rough for the scale and the detail errors really show. It is huge so you will need storage/Display space in abundance.
The Kit offering is an M4A3 105 but I am told by some that have seen it that it comes with a 75mm gun and Mantlet.
The detail is pretty poor compared to its 35th cousin.

I haven't seen it in the flesh but if it's got less detail than the 1/35 kits then that's absolutely ridiculous.
That thing should be hyperdetailed if it's 1/6th.

It isn't aimed at the Armour modeller but more at the battle Barbie brigade who don't want insane levels of detail and are obsessed with accuracy like a lot of the Armour modelling community.

Okay, I saw this way back but didn't feel I should react or respond, but now I am.
I have known about the 1/6 Sherman for quite some time now and will get one this fall as my 'other' 1/6 items need a Sherman! And an Axis vehicle too as a JEEP, Kubelwagon and a Kettenkrad are just not enough.
Oh, and two M5 Stuarts.
