I suspected that you weren't going to let the rebar remain raw copper ;-) There's a few exposed areas, but this is a WIP. I agree with Irvin, maybe add some small chunks. Or, in some exposed areas try to texture it a little - maybe a mill file on the soft copper would work.

Biggles2 - check the early photos.

I found a discussion on another group of various ways to represent rebar: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47211/thread/1336708498/1-35+rebar

This is superb work and there are a lot of applications for other theaters. Personally, i'd like to see a step-by-step on this... Hint, Hint!!!!

Thank you guys for the comments and the link.

Did you make your wire 'rebar' frame and then pour plaster over it so that it is actually embedded? Or did you just stick bits of wire into holes drilled into pieces of plaster? Either way, excellent job.

I made a frame of wire and then pour the plaster on it.
and with some parts i just drilled a hole for the wire.

A little Airbrush fail, my model ruined and my airbrush is broken, not that i mind, because i wanted to get a new one.

Im happy that my airbush did not, do this with my diorama, i think i would have lost it

Here are some pictures of my diorama so far.

I hope i got the ground color right.

Color? Are you serious? This thing looks real! Richard this is a work of art, you are very talented. Please tell me you can make castings of this? There are also some nice less typical PTO dio options for the Philippines.

Yes,this also reminds me of Newsreel footage from the PTO shot on Coregidor. It shows USA airborne forces landing on the island and dropping on the old parade ground in front of the damaged pre-war barracks. Very rocky landing zone and a lot of rocks, debris and shell craters. As a former para I cringe just looking at it.

Thank you all for your comments, you are awesome

And this is the Finemolds Ha-Go as good as finished, it only needs its decals and then its done.

Don't know what the wierd white looking effect is on the last photo of the tank, it not visible with the naked eye, but only on a setting with my camera.

Stunning, simply stunning.

A few comments if I may.

Marine utilities are more of a sage green, not yellow green.

A Corpsman would not be wearing a red cross arm band. That just made him a better target. He would however have a white disk painted on the back of his jacket between the shoulder blades and on the front of his left trouser leg (thigh).

Dead guys are well, dead. They lie completely flat to the surface, hence the term dead weight.

An M4's AP shot would have passed through the tank piercing both sides. An exit hole might convey this better.

Overall this is really good.

Hey Richard, as my computer is not up, am at the library, this is the first time I've seen this. Great work and an original idea. Your building came out superb. Colors on the marines is a bit off with your light green, but by this campaign they did have cammo unifroms. And a exit hole would be nice, unless the tank was hit in the fuel tanks or ammo storage in which case it would have brewed up totaly. More dust will be needed all around and serrious sweat stains on the figures as it was over 100 degrees during the attack. All in all, a real well done dio,and I like this alot.

Navy Corpsmen wore the same uniform as the Marines in battle. The idea was to not set them apart as in the Pacific that made them high value targets. They used the bag as depicted on your Corpsman, and carried a variety of knives. Most often the doc had extra canteens.

I vaguely remember an interview with a Navy Corpsman who said they also used different bags/satchels; or at the very least flip the bag around backwards, than what was normally supplied because they had another red cross on them and the Japanese would actively search for medics during engagements.

Richard, nice paint work on the figures, besides the already mentioned Red Cross'.

Superb job, Richard. I really like the detail work and when painted and weathered will look like the real McCoy. I would suggest using the Masterbox Japanese figures as the Tamyia aren't that good IMHO. I like the rebar with chunks of masonry attached, nice work, amigo. Very original and cleverl don. Keep us posted.
