Hy all
This diorama was started a few weeks ago its 40% done, i wanted to do, a pacific diorama in 1 35 but not one with a beach a bunker and a palmtree, no something completely different, i wanted to make the HQ on Peleliu, there not much images of this building around and if there are they are small and i real bad quality.
So most of my inspiration comes from images from the tv show The Pacific.
Hope you like it.
Kits i will be using, are the Tamiya, Finemolds Typ 95 kit
and the Dragon Peleliu Marines kit
Cheers
Richard

I like it. Great job at scratch building! As far as the canopy goes, you could remove some of the plaster/putty.

Casting plaster is the perfect method for such a building. Looks great. The rebar looks very convincing.

Richard: Nice work overall. As for the canopy, to me the problem is the straight line between the broken part and the still ok part. The breaking should go into the still good area and look more like the upper canopy.

For myself, I think the bottom is more credible than the top - that large piece, in that position, looks heavy enough that the steel reinforcement might not be enough to keep it from breaking off, especially with that long bare rod next to it. I liked it better in the earlier version, with the two rods. As all have said, a great start.

Richard,
Fantastic job! looks very real. only thought i have would be to put some clumps of concrete on your hanging rebar steel the wouldn't be that clean
the concrete would stick to it.

Did you make your wire 'rebar' frame and then pour plaster over it so that it is actually embedded? Or did you just stick bits of wire into holes drilled into pieces of plaster? Either way, excellent job.
