The pieces in this kit are many and will test the patience of the modeller. The photoetched abound and allow to detail the model optimally.
The tracks were painted with black Tamiya XF-1 and XF-59 wheels with Desert and Nato green XF-67.
Will cover the whole with masking tape to proceed with painting of the hull.

Sorry guys I have to say that this persons M1 chassis look's just like the M1 that comes for Cyberhobbys. What's the difference in the DML: AIM basic chassis and the Cyber H's M1 base model chassis.

I'm not sure why you feel that way. The details that I can see in the images look just like my AIM kit I have in my stash. It has the same inside look of the lower hull (holes for the road wheel arms, the inset for the additional hull side armor), The armored side skirts have the welded edges on front sections and not on the rear sections, it has the locking tabs at the top of the side skirts along with the PE strips, it has the bilge discharge in front of the RH sponson box, it appears to have the seperate engine deck hatches, the armored fuel tank fill ports are seperate, and the driver's hatch has the frag strip around its edge.

This is definitely a build of 3535, everybody's favorite and most excellently uber-detailed AIM.

Cyberhobby's 9125 is a re-box of DML 3517 M1A1-HA Abrams w/Tank Crew. The obvious tipoffs are the suspension arm locator pins and reinforcing ribs visible through the turret ring. The chassis for this kit, 3531 and 3533 have molded on suspension arms; in kits 3535 and 3536, the engine deck parts are molded as three separate pieces; the CH re-box upper and lower hulls are less detailed than the latter kits; no PE in the CH kit which would allow you to detail the skirts, etc.

If the hull pieces were so many, I never imagined that the tower were twice. A long but rewarding.

I followed the instructions, the upper part of the protection of the gun barrel I glued in place .... I do not know! I looked on some other models and I noticed the same problem! Unfortunately, it is the first that I do and it's too late!

If they are, this is a pure coincidence. There is not a single common part in old HA and AIM kits. Everything was designed from scratch for the AIM kit - actually it does not have any common parts even with M1 Panther II kit, other than Magic Tracks (the weakest part of the AIM kit).

Fabrizio,

The paint job on your M1 is looking good; the color modulation is nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

It looks very good!

Just two comments:
- behind grenade launchers on the turret you have two .50" cal. ammo boxes stored. They should be painted olive drab, not tan.
- you put a large oil spill around the manhole cover on the turret - do you have any justification for it? Have you seen something like that on any real tank photo or is it just an artistic license? I wouldn't expect it there, unless someone have dropped an oil can and it spilled all over the turret top

Great job with the M1A1 first of all. I would have to agree with Vodnik on the "oil spill" near the loaders hatch. Is there a reason for it? I use to drive these and did PMCS on it everyday and cannot think of a reason that oil would be coming from that cover. Maybe hydraulic fluid was spilled? Did not have a need for oil since everything in the turret ran on hydraulics. Great job on the dog house doors too! The lenses covering the optics look just how I remember them! Also, a couple of observations.
-the 30mm cans on the back of the bustle rack should be moved because of the generator and they were painted with the tank. We kept a lot of different things in those cans and were in them regularly.
-all of the tanks in my unit and sister unit put the tanks "name" on the bore evacuator.

It looks to be a veteran. The oil and grease stains do seem out of place. But, the rest of the build makes up for it. If the AIM kit has Magic Tracks, I'm getting one.
