This is a figure I painted up in about 3 hours for a small vignette. I don't call myself a figure painter at all. In fact this was the first one I did in about 3 years. I'm fortunate enough to know several very good painters so I got some great coaching.
I'd love to hear what y'all think.
Regards,
Kenneth C

Hi Kenneth,
for 3 hours painting time an awesome looking figure.
Good lights and shadows, a little bit rough at some places, but overall great.
I myself am a big fan of post apocalyptic scenarios and I am searching for those kind of figures.
It's difficult to find this stuff - can you tell me the maker of this figure?
By the way, the car in the background looks interesting - do you have more pictures of the whole scenery?
Cheers

Three hours? Very nice! I would take another look at the eyes. You have the shading down, but you should highlight the eyes. I find Testors dark tan works perfectly.

Thanks. Yeah, the eyes are the most disappointing part for me. Luckily he's looking down so they're not very obvious. The figure is a Russian officer from Tank Models figures. I simply painted his clothes in civi colors.
I will get a good photo of the whole scene and post it tomorrow. Honestly there are some off spots on the figure (photo) that are not there in person. The photo was taken with my phone real quick like and the lighting wasn't great.
Thanks again for the comments.

Ken the figure looks real good in the picture you posted, as for the eyes, I cheat. I paint the eyes a lighter shade of the basic skin shade that I am using...no white, and then use Archer eye decals!
Then just touch up around the eye. And done

agreed. I never use white in this scale. I tried hard with the eyes but the eye balls were poorly cast and I couldn't get them to look even remotely the same.
