Hey guys,
OK, so I know the Dutch army had a lot more YPR-765s than we do now. Egypt got a pile of them, and Bahrain got a few. Two questions:
1) Does anyone know where I could find photos of either Egyptian or Bahrainian YPR-765s?
2) I know Belgium and Turkey use the AIFV. Does anyone else use either the YPR or the AIFV, and where might one find more information?
The AFV Club kit is very nice, and of course I'd like to do something less than usual with it, in addition of building one of my old tank squadron's vehicles.
Cheers
Olaf

The Hunnicutt Bradley book covers its development and the variations that were planned for the Dutch army, but no photos beyond the prototype pictures of the ones made for the Dutch.
I'd figure that if anyone had info on these vehicles, it would be you.

Olaf,
the YPR is really a M113 with additional armor and some different weapons (25 mm Oerlikon in combination with the 7.62 mm coaxial machinegun). I know Korea used a similar AFV
Academy makes those vehicles.

Yes the previous replys are right. The BRADLEY book cover it , and the DARLINGTON productions special # 21 covers the whole vehicle w/ lots of photos. Todd

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input so far.
Rob, yes, I've got info on the Dutch ones, no problem there. Still remember what the inside looks like too. I'm trying to find more info about foreign users, though. I have yet to see a pic of any of the ones we sold (?) to Egypt, for instance.
As to the KIFV, same basis, right, but very different rear and top.
Cheers

Did you know that Egypt ordered 611 Dutch YPR's ? That leaves us with the remaining two and a couple of bikes #:-)

Hey,
Yeah, I heard they had a garage sale... I'm curious as to whether the Egyptian ones will have the three tone camo, or just plain sand.
Oh, I've also heard that of our remaining 180 Leo 2 tanks another 70 are supposed to be sold? What's going on with that? When I served on the 2A4 we still had 445 of them...
Cheers

Yeah,
I feel someone needs a size 45 up their behind.... Our Government killed a good army in less then 10 years..... now that's change management. In a couple of years all we have left can be compared to the situation we had before WWII.... 2 tanks and some bicycle platoons.....
