hiya guys,

well ive taken a break from my IT-1 missile tank and given my shot at the first 1/72 kit ive done. Was shocked how fast it was built, given my IT-1 took me a number of evenings locked away alone, this was built in a evening chilling out in front of the telly. Also, i wanted to share this as over the last few weeks ive noticed a number of comments from newbies with concerns about painting by brush and leaving brush strokes. well this is not the case providing you prime it with a rattle can (here ive used 'chaos black' from games workshop) and paint SLOWLY. this stage is my 4th coat at 50/50 valijo paint and normal tap water. as always all comments are welcome, enjoy!

Guys,

Looking for some advice, unfortunately even though I am good at art, I didn't take art in school (my school crush was taking geography lol) and i admit i am terrible at mixing colours lol so i need to make a 'dust/sand' colour, my chally now looks closer to gold somehow but i don't mind that, its a very rich colour next to my green tanks lol so i have basic colours in oils so how do i make dust/sand colour OR what colour can i just go and buy?... Lol

Hi Alex,

If you use Vallejo try their Dark Sand, Light Sand and Iraqi Sand. All of these colours are quite 'dusty' in colour and if mixed with Buff can produce a really good dust colour.

All the best,

Paul

Nice work Bronzey! Is this the Dragon kit? I agree with your comments regarding brush painting 1/72 scale kits. I brush paint modern subjects or ones with hard-edged camo. You did a great job. It's nice to take a break from the 1/35 monsters once in a while.

That's a tiny tank! Way too small for my patience, that's for sure.

Nice result in the end. I like the paint job for something that's been done with a brush. Thumbs up!

John - no its the trumpeter kit, my brother in law got me this one and a chally mk II, also a trumpeter kit. Went together lovely and as I said I enjoyed it. Shocking when you think most of these 1/72 kits take less parts than a set of Indy tracks for 1/35! Thank you for your comments!

Pytagoras - thank you for your kind words, always nice to hear good things about my work!
