I went to the store today looking for some future or Pledge with Future. It looks like Pledge has repackaged their products. None of them said with Future. I bought the 'Pledge Foor Care Multi-Surface Finish.
I went to the websitehttp://www.pledge.com/en-US/Products/Pages/tile-and-vinyl-floor-finish-with-future-shine.aspx but could not find the bottle I bought. I did find out the one I bought IS the same formula just a new look.
The ingredients appear to be the same.
I went ahead and sprayed some on a test scrap just to see what will happen.

Guess they've once again changed their packaging. New bottle doesn't seem to say with Future. I have the old Pledge bottle. At the rate I use it. It will out last me.

Yeah they changed again. Until I was home and looked up the ingredients online that I knew I had the right bottle.

After five years, my bottle is about gone. I'll pick up some more, next trip to Wal-Mart.

Robert,
Are you positive it's the same formula? The pledge with future bottle doesn't list ammonia as an ingredient.

Ammonia was never an ingredient of Future or Pledge w/Future.
Pledge and/or Future is an acrylic floor finish.
Ammonia is only used to strip the stuff off floors
that need to be refinished.
Cheers,
Joe

The picture of the bottle that Robert posted lists ammonia as an ingredient, I just bought two at Walmart and I think I'm taking them back.

Yup, just checked the Johnson website. Ammonium Hydroxide listed as a 'pH adjuster'...

So the old 'future' bottle used to list ammonia as a ph adjuster? Another poster just said future never had ammonia in it. The bottles of pledge with future that I have do list "ph adjuster" as an ingredient. I'm getting a head ache

sorry, didn't mean to cause confusion. The johnson website lists ammonia as an ingredient of the NEW Pledge. My old bottle of Future doesn't have the ingredients listed but don't some people use Windex or windscreen wash to thin Future anyway?

I was looking for a bottle of Future recently as well. My old original bottle unfortunately got thrown out by mistake by the Wife the last time I moved. After I looked around in all of the local stores and on the Web, I also found that the name had been changed and the word "Future" had been removed.
I was a little reluctant to use the new stuff, so I called S C Johnson and talked directly to them about the absence of Future in their products. The lady who handles product service issues was very receptive of my questions, and after I explained the reason why I wanted just good old Future, for spraying plastic models she told me that she had recieved a lot of calls from modelers and understood exactly what I was talking about.
She told me to hang on for a moment while she pulled a file on the new stuff. She read the file print out to me, and assured me that the newly labeled "Pledge Floor Care Multi Surface Finish" was exactly the same formula as the old Future formula. She said that they had only changed the label and the name, nothing else was changed. That's what SC Johnson told me on the phone.
So.....I bought a bottle, and the nice Corporate lady sent me a coupon for an extra free bottle too. I sprayed some of it on an old 1:24 scale plastic model pickup truck that I was rebuilding. It worked fine, layed down smooth, sprayed fine, didn't get a milky look, or anything unusual. It acted just like it always did, and I added some Tamiya Buff to some of it to use as a dull top coat on some other stuff. It worked well for me...no problems that I could see.
So far so good. Sorry for being so long winded, and rambling on but I thought maybe this would help someone, since I had the same doubts about it before I called them.
Hope this helps

I have to admit, I never read the ingredients on my old bottle of Future before it got tossed by mistake. So I can't say truthfuly myself that it is the same from a chemical standpoint. I just called them and went by what they said on the phone. I do know that there are a couple of different formulas on the shelves for different applications ie, tile, wood etc. If that might be the difference in the ammonia in the mix of that particular product. I personaly couldn't see any difference in the results of the bottle that I bought and the old stuff.
If something weird happens to the finish in a few months, then I'll switch over to something else. But for now it works for me.

Greg,
Thanks for clarifying all that, much appreciated. I'll go ahead and give the new non future labeled stuff a shot on an old practice kit to see what happens.

Pedro, you are very welcome my freind. The bottle that is shown in the 2nd picture by Totem Wolf is the one that SC Johnson recommended to me. I was running around town like a chicken chasing a bug trying to find the right formula LOL! I read a lot of reviews, and posts on other forums about the new lable. It seems that Johnson has a few other formulas that look similar to this particular one, but they don't give the same results. That is what the lady from Johnson was explaining to me, they won't work. It has to be the lable in the photo that Totem Wolf posted.
Happy to help out.

Greg,
As it happens the two bottles I bought today match the photo totem posted. I guess it was meant to be then. Once again, thanx for your feedback.

Pedro, I see that your call sign is Shermania. I am interested in building a Sherman, can you suggest a particular site that I can find some examples of Shermans with interesting camoflauge patterns rather than just OD Green??
Thx Greg

Google armored acorn, I've gotten a ton of stuff off there in the past, color plates and unit markings. For a US sherman you have a couple of camouflage patterns you can do, the marines used m4a1 with OD and black as a hard edge disruptor on new guinea, also in the PTO the army used a red brown over OD also hard edge. In Africa there were some sherman units that used mud to paint their disruptive pattern over OD 'major Jim' comes to mind. Also in Africa the commonwealth had some really cool stone and blue black, desert yellow on green, and these continued into the MTO with probably the Scott grey units really taking the prize for creative schemes with the leopard like spots on their Shermans. In the ETO the us army also used black on green during operation cobra. There many others but that's what I came up with off the top the old head.

Hi, All! Once again, it's a case of "Caveat Emptor". (Let the Buyer Beware) Do you ever get the feeling that you need to carry a magnifying glass with you whenever you go shopping anymore...
It just seems that there are about 87,000 products that you have to peruse before you find what you need. I'm over-exaggerating, of course. But how many of us have found that just when we finally find a product that works, the manufacturer changes the product in question to the point where much of the "experimentation process" has to start all over again? And it's not just in the model-building sector, either... Agh, whatta ya gonna do...
