Hi Folks,

This Project has been going on for a very long time now but came to an end last weekend. The project was a cooperation between me and my brother. My part in this was to build all the vehicles and Captain Miller. My brother did the base, the Bridge itself with all the Little stuff on it (crates, rubble etc.) and the water effects.

We both always wanted to build a scene from this movie and had several ideas, of which one to work with. In the end we Chose the final battle for Ramelle, where Tom Hanks is firing his colt completely desperate, at a German Tiger/T-34 tank.

Outstanding work the backdrop really sets the scene and the water looks superb too

I wondered how long it would be, before I saw a dio of the movie. Great work! I agree, about the backdrop. But, .45 vs. 8.8? The P-47 won the day.

I know that you are an armour guy so i forgive you It was a P-51 which destroyed the tiger in the movie. Also very nice diorama!

Very nice. I'd like to see a write just on how you converted the T-34.
I guess I can't use my idea to use a Soviet ammo box for a dio an more - you beat me to it!

The Tiger/T-34 is a kit bash. Only the Suspension arms were used from the T-34 kit, the rest came out of Dragon's Tiger I late kit. The wheels were milled and are made of plastic. The tracks are Friuls. Zimmerit was done with Magic Sculp and a tool I made myself.

What type of lathe did you use? I have a Sherline, but it is for metal. I find that, more often than not I need one for plastic.

A friend of mine works at a Company, where they make plastic window frames. He used a professional lathe there, to make the wheels.

Very cool, I love how you modified a Tiger to look like a T34 modified to look like a Tiger. A great scene from a great movie.
