I have just completed Dragon's T34-85. The basic kit is built straight out of the box with the addition of Friul tracks, wire tow cables, wire grabs, damaged front fenders, and wood unditching beams.

The T34 sits on a styrofoam base being rushed from the side and rear by German figs from Dragon and Academy. These are my first figs, (and frankly I struggled), but Nate aka Porkchop gets many thanks for his helpful hints and his patience, as these figs were completed.

The first pics are of the T34, - then a couple of the figs, - and then overall T34/fig/base pics. As always I appreciate all helpful comments. Thanks.
Steve

Nice T34. I like.
Got three things to think about - I can't tell if the MG is drilled out or not?
The foliage is a bit tropical for my tastes.
The guy throwing the grenade will take out the two forward guys along with the T34.

All around, constrution and paint looks very good, both on the tank and the figures.

I'm with Scott on the vegetation and grenadier. Also, the panzerfaust is way too close. I don't know how sophisticated these things were, but it might not even arn in that short a distance and if it did, the blast would seriously endanger the shooter.

The tank and base look awesome :-) It might look a little better though if the tracks were pressed into the dirt a little more. Mud on the tracks might also make a nice addition...good times though.

As A figure painter,i like to see the results of a good paint job,be it figures or armour, you need a lot more practice on the figure side, but i envy your talent painting and detailing armour.

WWH,
If you haven't put away your exacto knife,I have 2 things to contemplate.
First, the rear unditching beam is wider than the tank.Going through any wooded area,it will be ripped off in an nanosecond or so.
Secondly, since you have done an absolutely great weathering and fender-bending job on it,gouge out the edges of the roadwheels very slightly. If the tank has been through enough hard country to bend the fenders, the roadwheels will have small chunks taken out by rocks and gravel.
I am very happy to see the field mod rail on the right side.It gives the tank the lived in look.

Nice all-round diorama. T-34/85 looks great and so do the figures. Layout is very important in a diorama. Groundwork is really good. I like the perspective of an ambush.

Cheers !

Great work Steve. As already mentioned, the tank, finished, is awesome. The field modifications make this individual and adds so much. You have the shifting beams down to a fine art now ...... for old timber it looks so realistic. I love the layout of the figures and vegetation. I know for realism some figures may be too close, but the compact action is visually much better. To space them out properly, the base would have to be at least two times bigger and I feel this would take away from the scene. If my first figures were this good, Id be happy. Keep up with the figure painting and if they reach your armor painting level, we can expect some stunning dios in the future! Good luck. Whats next?

Jaw-droppingly magnificent! Can't tell they're your first figures. Very inspiring work! Makes me want to take the plunge and do a dio myself

X-cell-ent job.
Keen eye for layout you have. The paint job on the tank is tops. I did find myself looking for some road rocks caught in thoses great looking tracks. you did such a fine job painting them, i know it's a shame to soil them.Tthe fender work is really well done. Good pics too.

My thanks to those who have posted comments :-) .

As someone noted, my figures skills require lot's more practise---(totally agree, as these are my first ones---some specifics to work on comments would be appreciated also as I did struggle with these).

Also as several have noted, the dio base is too compressed, so in essence the scene isn't believable,--- but at this point I'll have to let the scene goes as is.

The T34 ended up painted/weathered as I had hoped, but if I could do it over, I'd try an aftermarket pe set for the engine deck grills. Dragon has a nice kit here, that I would recommend to anyone.

Thanks again.

Steve

An excellent piece of ork. My only comment in addition to those above is that the tow cable is a bit loosely wound. You might want to tighten up the strands a bit.

That's a very nice build.
I like the way you have painted the wood on the fenders, very realistic! Also the Friuls add a very nice touch to the model.

Gee, that looks really good! The idea behind the dio is one of amazement!

I am sure that the judges will also be fairly impressed!

This one gets you a drink at that new place, Bostons!
