This is my latest work for AFV. Tamiya 1/48 JS-2.

I am using color modulation for base coat. Then I apply pinwash and details painting with acrylic.

Using varies of product / Oil / Pigments.

The weathering is outstanding! Are the markings oob or did you obtain new ones or did you use a template? They look painted on.

Thank you Matt for your comment. The original marking are used. I apply 2 coat of Mr mark softer to thinned out them. For the white line, I paint with Vallejo White.

I'll have to see if one of the two decal softeners will thin them that much, without causing them to tear.

Great work on this guy! I like that your modulation is nice and subtle too. Too often you see overly strong modulation patterns where it looks like every surface of the vehicle is being lit from a different direction by powerful studio lights. Yours keeps the intended effect, without blowing out every surface.

Well done!

Thank you for your warm welcome and C&C. This is my 3rd finished kit in AFV (I do another type of models before) and will be listen for you all suggestion and comments.

Truely, I am not good in the AFV historical but I tried to read and learn from the resource both books and website but I am not my type to restrict to the history every details. I am just see what possible to do with my model and will build as I like.

Like the hatches door, I read and learn that it can remove. I see some JS-4 at WAR, some tank remove hatch doors (I think it malfunction) and can still in a service so I try to remove my JS-2 hatch door because I do not like it block the figure vision when view from aside.

Thank you again.

About the hatch. Yes, this was common. During the Battle of Kursk, it was said that the commander was constantly popping his head out of the turret to see. A hatch would have interefered with his observation.
