Hi all
Hey folks, has anyone built Dragon's Sherman firefly VC ? If so what can you tell me about the kit ? Is it good, bad, fine out of the box, or not e.t.c. I need another two vehicles for my RMG dio, I was going to use the Austin K5s but the only kits I can find are arund $80 bucks each which is a little bit much for me. Thanks in advance>

I just read an article in a modeling magazine (could be an older one I won on Ebay or the latest FSM) that the builder did a review of. He had issues with the turret and replaced it with a resin one. I've got one, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll take a look and see if I can give you some more info on the article.

Brett Green aka the host of Hyperscale posted an excellent article of building a FireFly.
Check it out. Has pointers and kits available to improve the Sherman Firefly.

Here's a site with some improvements for the base Firefly kit, the Sherman M4A4.

However, DML has announced a re-tooled Firefly w/new hull. May be worth waiting for?

The VC kit has a couple issues, but both are not terribly difficult to fix.
Here's a link to Mike Canaday's take on the hull and turret: http://mmcalc.tripod.com/Shermans/Model_FAQ/Modeling_the_M4A4-Firefly.html
I have heard that the latest issue of the Sherman VC Firefly kit has corrected the hull problem; haven't heard anything about the turret.
