Hi all
Like the title says, I'm confused, baffled even. I'm building a Daimler MKII scout car. while doing some research I've come across two different vehicles. One with a turent [spelling?] that looks alot like a Humber. The other looks like the kit I'm building. The confusing part is that they are both listed as Daimler MKII scout cars. So I'm asking those of you out there with more knowledge than I on British armor {thats just about everyone} to please help end the confusion. #:-)
Thanks again

the other vehicle could be an american stage hound it kinda looks the same
let me know wich one you are building and I can find out
their are 2 kind of daimler scout cars the top picture is of one with a turret the other one is the recon / weapons carrier version

Here are some comparative photos: Top is a Staghound III, Middle is a Daimler I and the bottom pic is a Humber 3. These are all Accurate Armoour models, they do not form part of my collection (until I win the lottery that is....) For more gems of this type, take a look at the AA website: http://www.accurate-armour.com

Harry,
Are you sure your research source is correct?
It is not unknown for there to be missprints or for these "experts" to be wrong!!
A picture of what your kit is would help

the tamiya kit is also known as a dingo its still a daimler the one with the turret is a bit bigger still a daimler they just used to call the scout car a''dingo" as away of telling the difference my dad drove both and still refers to the one with the turret as a big daimler he was lucky he just caught the end of war not that catching any part of any war is lucky.

Hi Guys
Sorry guys I can't post any pics yet, I won't have a digital cam until the first of the year, my ex has it. The kit Tazz mentioned is the same one I'm working on. If this is a recon vehicle what would it be working with, example other dingos or Honeys ?
Thanks guys

What you seem to have is a case of miscaptioning. It happens a lot. The Dingo Was the daimler scout car. It had no turret. What accurate armour are offer are Dailer armoured cars. They had slightly different role. The armoured car typically supporting scout cars when doing recon work. Trying to provide some sort of fire support.

Offcourse the Dingo operated in teh Recce squads, but thety often came in contact with other units, so most combinations are valid.
