Welcome. To celebrate five years spent in the UK, I decided to build a model of the British Challeger 2 of the First Royal Tank Regiment. This is the original, which I intend to model:

To build the model, I will use Trumpeter kit:

and Accurate Armour resin kit

Apart from Accurate Armour tracks I use a Bronco and Voyager photo etched set. I know that to build an exact replica of the tank, I have to change the wheels too, but this just is not a problem, because a colleague promised help. Well, enough of writing, I'll show you what I have built so far:

That would be all for now. Not long another bunch of photos. Thanks and regards

Looks like the demo squadron based at Warminster, the weather in the photo's leads me to believe that its not BATUS in Canada. When I served all the Warminster based units were painted in green and tan, stood out from the green and black that was the normal.

Good start with the build fella

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen. I know how ungrateful it is set, but I will try to do everything in my power to end the result was satisfactory. As for the model I have some plans (to replace the original turret, Accurate Armour resin product), but this is only the plans and I do not know if I can make them happen. Thanks again for the kind words gentlemen and greet.

I agree, there are no 'Zap' numbers on the hulls nor white 45's painted on the tank turrets.

It is not BATUS.

The picture is deceiving at first glance, it looks like CFB Suffield in spring but Keith and Dan are right it is not a BATUS Challenger. FYI 2009 was the last year BATUS Challengers were painted tan and green, most of the vehicles in Suffield are now tan only.

Cheers

This is looking really nice, the pics you are working from is a Chally of the Royal Tank Regiment and is part of the Land Warfare Centre based in Warminster in the Uk.
These can be seen out on Salisbury Plain.
Looking forward to seeing this finished.

Good choice of subject and some nice progress too.
And yep, 1RTR are still the Demo Sqn at Warminster after about 13 years I think. I remember the place very well...

Welcome. Construction of the model lasts, yesterday I got a wheels suitable for the vehicle on which it is modeled. I am also working on not a great diorama. This is the first in my life diorama, so it did not work out the way I wanted, but everything will be improved. That's what my model looks with the new wheels. In the future, the model will get the Bronco tracks and resin turret of Accurate Armour. And here is some pictures:

That's it for now. Regards
