I don't think so, this has been one of those glaring omissions for the longest time.

This is actually not Resicast's DD Sherman. Previously, they did 3 M4A4s (Sherman V) DD swimmers. One with raised screens, one with lowered screens (like this M4A1) and one with the screens removed (as seen operationall shortly after DDay). I believe they also did a large hatch M4A1 with lowered screen as well.
But to answer Michael's question: there was another, very sad and tragic, attempt at a DD Sherman many years ago. An awful (in every description of the word) company called I-Corps issued something they called a DD Sherman. The only thing that one could trace to being a DD Sherman in the contents --- was the writing on the label. It was that bad.
Mercifully defunct company. If you ever see their goods at a model swap, please have a look. Amazing in their absence of resemblance to anything.

Hi Roy,
If it not a Resicast DD Sherman then to whom does it belong?
Resicast withdrew their older Sherman DD kits from production some time ago. You can see the slide show for the new vehicle on their site.
http://www.resicast.com/products/kits/slideshow-61/index.html
It comes in two versions, one without a screen and one with the screen lowered.
35.1166 is the re-tooled early M4A1 Sherman DD (without the screen)
35.1236 is the full new resin kit just released as per the new article (with the screen lowered).

Hi folks,
A quick look inside the box shows, upper and lower hull, turret and skirt, 14 bags of highly detailed resin parts and two small frets of PE.
This should make for a challenging build.
This is a complex kit and a conversion set for say a Tasca Sherman would not have been easy either for the manufacturer nor for the builder. I don't see any cost advantage either were you to add the cost of a donor kit plus a conversion set so this is probably the best option.

Are the turret and upper hull solid block castings, or is that just a thin resin film covering the hatch and turret ring openings to be cut out?

Cut out as required, just the resin film covering the openings which helps stop the parts distorting.

Hi Roy, I thought you'd lost the plot there, one Sherman too many .
I'm not sure if the other versions are still available. I think Graham may have withdrawn them to re-do the molds at some point, but I could be wrong.
Cheers
