With the Tamiya trend to release modern vehicles new or update.
I was wonder if they plan to update their Bradley or the Humvee.

Last week I mentioned that an M2A3 and M3A3 are coming. I won't say who it is (yet) but it is in plastic. Woo Hoo!

Can you say if they will be totally new kits, or re-vamped old kits?

Yes, I can.
Oh, totally new, and NOT Academy or Tamiya. That's all you get.

Actually, if you had said re-vamped, then I would have figured either Academy or Tamiya.. but totally new implies most probably another company. Sounds like they'll be a couple of really interesting kits

Yes, we definitely need a 1/35 M2A3 pre-war U.S. light tank...

Wrong M2A3 and M3A3 i'm afraid. Rob is referring to the M2A3/M3A3 Bradley IFV & CFV.

My guess is Hobby Boss since they did the AAVP7 series with full interiors. Excellent kits too.

Great news!! But are there any exterior differences between these two variants (M2A3 and M3A3), except the only noticeable difference:the external firing ports in the rear hatch which are absent on the M3!

There are differences as well in the top rear troop hatch. The M3A3 hatch has periscopes on it. On the M2A3 they are directly behind the hatch on the rear deck. The differences are so slight even the maintenances guys don't bother with the distinction between the two. As you mentioned, the ramp on the M3A3 has no firing ports. There are two styles for this-older ramps with the ports plated over, or newer ramps with no ports at all.

Would love a corrected Bradley. I haven't the time left alive or patience to fix the Tamiya kits, much less the money for the resin upgrades needed.

AFV CLub already makes a great M3A3. We now need them to make a great M3, M3A1 and M8!

Thanks Rob! So i assume that both versions should be included in the incoming kit Anyway these are wonderful news for modern AFVS! I also wish for a plastic British Warrior with ERA for a future release!!!!!!

It will be nice to build a Bradley without having to rely on Legend and my scratch building to come up with good results!

Off Topic: Hi! I agree with Paul regarding the US Light Tanks M3, M3A1 and the M8 HMC, but don't hold your breath- AFV CLUB has been advertising an M8 HMC listed as "(future)" for years, and the M8 HMC was absent from their last "New Kits" Bulletin. (Perth's website, 9-19-13)
Does that mean we are finally going to see a new M8 HMC from AFV in the near future, or has this "(future)" kit been sent to "Never-Never Land"..? All bets are off...
PS- Back on original topic, sort of- Yes, it would be very nice to see new "state of the art" M2/M3 Bradleys. I'm not going to venture a guess on who will be doing these new kits, but I'm disinclined to think that DRAGON will make that jump. I also agree that we could use the M2/M3 and T-series pre-WWII US Light Tanks and Combat Cars in plastic as well. COMMANDER MODELS makes these in resin, but some modellers will balk at the higher pricing. The M2-series Medium tanks, which were precursors to the M3-series Mediums (Lee/Grant) would be nice, too...
Off Topic Again, and please guys, this isn't a rant, just a personal observation: DRAGON has just announced ANOTHER Pz.Kpfw.III, this time an Ausf.G (T). Since DRAGON has decided to supply the world with every single Pz.III newer than an Ausf.E, (I wouldn't hold my breath for Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.A's, B's, C's or D's, either.) I'm guessing that they will follow-on with Early, Mid-Production and Late Ausf.Gs in DAK (trop), Russian Front, Mediterranean and Balkan Theaters, blah, blah, blah... As far as DRAGON's Pz.III kits are concerned, they're ALL great kits, with or without "Magic Tracks"... I'm not going to get into the "Magic Tacks" vs. "DS Tracks" imbroglio either, since DRAGON is trending towards the rubber band-style, much to the discontent and consternation among many fellow modellers.
It's an interesting time right now- we're starting to see a lot of stuff coming to fruition that we used to daydream about not so long ago...

If you mean the rear ramp, yes, the easiest fix for the M3A3 is to do no firing ports, and also include the welded plates. Then you have your choice. However, from a manufacturing perspective, the best fix is firing ports on the ramp for the M2A3, and plates to simply add to the M3A3 kit. Personally, I think the ramp on the M3A3 looks more interesting with the plates.
