Howdy ho!
Some recent in-production shots of the Schwimmwagen dio. Pics are not too good, I only got a digicam for these. But you´ll probably get a picture what´s going on!
Comments and critic always welcome! It was the first time for me to try out armor, so the weathering may look a bit clumsy...I was after heavy dirt, though...

The weathering looks pretty darn good to me!
Great work there, Toni! If only I could do something half that good...
Did you ever find the civilian woman figure yet?
Keep up the great work!

Lol. The poor guy is so drunk that when it started raining, he thought he has to put down the propeller....the rain has ended and the sun shines again!
BTW, does Schwimmie roll at all with the prop down?

A couple of pics more, they missed the last train!
Iron fence is scratchbuilt, CA gel was used for dried mud. It has an overall Tamiya clear varnish finish with LOTS of watercolour, ink and pastels over it. I would like to put some equipment in the back seat, all suggestions are welcome! I already have a scratchbuilt ammo clip belt and a Kar38 in there...

Toni,
I must praise you for the lamp post and schwimmie. They look almost lifelike and the paintjob on the lamp is exquisite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Schwimmwagens' according to some material i found were quite bouyant and didn't roll as much as boats of a similar size because of the width of the Chassis!
keep it up

Toni,
As ussual great work. With the inspiration of some of the other great dio builders here I can hardly wait to see what you do next!
Are you going to have time to write up something on this? w/ photos?
Cheers,
Jim

Excellent work!
I really like the finish on the Schwimmy, and the water/puddles look great. Do I understand correctly that you just pooled CA glue to do that?
Very nice!

No, CA was used for the Schwimmie 3-d dirt! Water is just three layers of Humbrol clear varnish, with some rust red thin acrylics over the middle layer...I was lazy with it but hey, it worked out!
:-)

As far as Im concerned the weathering looks great. I like the 3-D dirt using glue. Great idea. You said you scratchbuilt the railings/fence. How did you do that. I have been looking for a medium to do this for some time. Any tips appreciated. Thanks

Here you go Sarge! I spent some time looking for a right kind of PE set for a iron fence, then I realized how easilly it could be made from scratch... The structure is similar to an old fence I saw in a park in Helsinki. I just CA glued the styrene strip in the back of the plastic rod, but it´s not going to be visible anyway...
The painting was simply done with humbrol gloss black and some pastel chalks over it.
Happy fencing!

What thicknesses of plastic rod and styrene do you use? I am rubbish at scale things and this makes life so much easier for me. This is a great tip because when you build bridges, and urban areas a little metal fence adds so much life. Even in barred up lower level windows, barrs are often seen. Thanks for any advice in advance.
(By the way I am going over to Helsinki in August for the Finland V Ireland pre-euro friendly match. August 25th I think. Ive been there quite a few times before. Stayed up stairs at Molly Malones for a week one time. I took a week off work and went as the roadie for an Irish band playing there. They were neighbours of mine from home.I live in Stockholm at the moment, so the odd trip on the Viking line has given some great memories)

Err....I´d say it´s about 4mm thick, rectangular shaped. I just picked what seemed right to my eye... The styrene I cut off from a pack of barbeque chicken wings.
Oh and give me a call when you come in Helsinki, a pint of Finnish Lager on me!
