I am just starting this very same kit. How is the build? Any issues/tips?
Nice job on a nifty little model. Congrats.

Hi Steve ...thanks for the comments ...the only really wierd part about this kit is the mantlet and the main gun ....there is supposed to be a place to fix the cannon so that it can move up and down and side to side ...If you glue it there the gap is unrealistic...my solution was to cut that all off and mount it using miliput to fill in the gaps around the mantlet ...try it you'll see what I mean ...the way they did this any man with a grenade could walk up and put this tank out of action..lol

Nice work. Are you going to place decals on it ?
I have the same kit waiting to be build. IŽll take your advice about the main gun and manlet.

I used a mix of tamiya and gunze paints on this one my dark yellow is a mix of XF59,XT60 ..with a bit of gunze's german dark yellow ...some tamiya buff and white added to each coat...I started by coating it in a red primer color ..tamiyas red brown and hull red , then slowly built up the color over this leaving it darker in the corners....the dark green is again a mix of tamiya and gunze paints..all sprayed in very light coats...As for the decals there doesn,t seem to be any othe this Hetzer but I must tell you that I had so beautiful Archer crosses in my hands last night and it was very tempting!! I used a color print in the book called Hetzer and G13 vol.1 by Mike Koenig and George Parada in the Kagero series of books .I also have the MBI books too as a reference both were very helpful.

well done and well painted, but I think you can improve the tank adding rust and the decal...
good luck with the weathering work!

I really would love to put the decals on but there weren't any on the real tank...I might just give in though but I've gotten alot of the weathering done already and would be hard to get the decals to match now... You will see there will be lots of worn and rusty looking paint when it is finished ..Dusty too!!
I'll get some pictures done when I finish ...

Nice work on your Hetzer here ! Really good camo job, and choice of colors. Tracks look real nice too. I like the PE muffler heat shield. Will look fantastic once weathered up.
Are you planning to use decals or dry-transfers for markings ?
Send us more pics. Always good to see a nice Hetzer once in a while !
Cheers !!
Robert

Hi Robert ...from the picture I used to do the camo there are no markings what so ever on this tank ,I do have a set of Archer's dry transfers for the crosses if I do descide to add them .. the picture seems to have been taken at the factory so maybe they did add markings in the field...What do you think??

Hi Rick,
I love this little one!!!
Very nice and clean built with lots of details. That Aber pe really looks great, well done. I also like the painting.
Please show us some pics after the weathering stage...
