Guido, Very nice work with the etched brass and the styrene louvers. What did you use to replicate the polished metal of the hydraulic rams? Please post more pictures of your work.

Guido, Again, nice detail work. The triangular lifting points and "D" handles are outstanding. What are you using for the anti-slip surface as it looks to be in scale, once painted.
What surprises do you have for us in the dozer cab? I cannot wait for the next set of pictures of your work.

Thank you, John. The anti-slip is Aluminium oxide powder, thickness 110 micron. That's the smallest one used 'til now to obtain that pattern. I simply sprinkled it over the surface wet with water and vinyl glue mix, as salt on a salad.

Hi, mates....back again with my dooby. Moving on the cab....I replaced some details as moulded directly on the main parts of the cab and added others for a better looking. This stuff is near to be finished.....still missing some painting details and pigments over there.
Here we go.
Cheers.

PROBLEM: this is the sag of D9R......absolutely awful.....
A close-up of the model track tensioning system: the piston that allows the horizontal movement when running.....the model one doesn't move.
PROBLEM SOLVED.........A NEW WORKABLE PISTON.
Everything must be yet glued.
It's possible to fix the right gap between the parts of the track tensioning system.........now I have the right sag for the tracks.......need just to better refine everything.
Hi all, mates......after a long time I can finally share here what done in the meanwhile with my D9R. I went on very slowly but actually it's ready for the painting steps. So here all together some pics for the cab building......I extensively reworked many details using pe or from scratch. The hardest work concerned the slats and their support arms: I moreover rendered workable doors/slats movement, by upgrading as per infos all the slats support arms. Thank you all for watching.
The cab roof prior the detail work.
New hinges from pe and D handles.
Other details.....949669 is the Doobi I saw on the Desert Eagle book I'm trying to reproduce.
New upper L support for the the slat.....the original pe part and on its said the new one with the arm already glued.
L door/slat in both positions.
The same work on the R side.....a reworked new arm as per infos.
Finally started with the cab painting. Enamel white base with black over on all recesses for a preshading technique...then first coat with Humbrol 84 base....tomorrow I'll try to light up panels and flat areas with a mix from base colour plus light sand.
