Completed this figure a while back and my brother helped to create this "boxart photo"

It's a US Marine from the 1st Mar Div, Korean War.

Why does it say Guadalcanal when it's a figure of a marine during the Korean War?

Other than that it looks very nice. Very nice indeed.

That is the official 1st Marine Division patch. It was adopted during WWII and is still used to represent the Division today.

Hello Benjamin, Excellent job! I have the same piece on the to-do list. Could you tell me where you got the 1st Division pin? Al

Got this on my 'to do' list aswell!
This is a superb rendition of the bust Benjamin- the uniform is nicely done and has a great 'used' look about it. The camo on the helmet is great too, adding a bit of color to break up the green of the uniform. The face is particularly well done- you've captured the cold yet stoic look very well. I must say I am particularly drawn to the wool scarf- it looks very realistic- how did you achieve that finish on it?

Hi Karl, glad u guys are planning to work on this bust. You won't be disappointed.

As for the scarf, the texture was done with by stippling small dots with a fine brush. I used various shades for the shadows, if u look closely, some areas are actually a dark blue (prussian blue)

Hey Benjamin, you have done justice to this figure. The color tones are excellent, just a fantastic job. Looks like a photo of a real person. Just blows me away.
