I'm having trouble uploading this photo, so i hope the link works

Earlier posts indicated that the "Aunt Jemima" conversions were all M4's This appears to be an early M4A1. I cannot tell if there is applique armor and can't clearly identify the turret type. Has anybody come across any other views or references (or have better eyes)?

To me it looks to have the cast in Applique Armor and a high High Bustle turret.

This web site may help you out Sherman Mminutia

Would the high bustle turret have a loader's hatch?
Also... do the air cleaners look like round canisters or is that a trick of shadows?

In your well-known pic of the T1E3, you can clearly make out the opened loader's hatch. The cast in hull patches are among the last of the 75mm gun M4A1 gun tanks. In this production hull (a very short production run), they actually switched from the small to the large hatch series that marks the remaining Sherman series. I'd go with the standard boxy air cleaners.

Here's mine using the old DML 75mm M4A1 & Verlinden resin T1E3:

I can send you a template if you want to add the thickened armor slabs to a 1/35 M4A1 kit.
