Hello gentlemen,

Just finished this project.

Kit is Dragons SU-100 and is a very nice kit IMO. Its painted with Tamiya and weathered with Mig and AK products. Figures are Alpine painted with Vallejo Acrylics. Base is made with Foam, CelluClay and Dirt from the yard. Ground was Painted with Lifecolor Dark Brown and sealed with Future Gloss. Snow is Woodland Scenics mixed with PVA glue and a bit of water.

All comments welcome!

Outstanding work Gary. You surprise me every time you put something new out I just wish I had your painting skills when it comes to figures. Is the SU dragon's older release or their new premium kit? Keep the work coming.

Looks great Gary, I wish you would have added something in the back though, a tree or a stump at least; it's just to open and centered for me.

You gotta love that dirty old mud! The way it sits on the ground and on the tracks is brilliant- it really does look realistically wet. The snow is fantastic too- looks just like it is thawing and melting away showing the ground beneath and the small tufts of grass. The crater and the standing water in it behind the figures is a nice touch. The figures themselves really suit the scene- their dirty white overcoats tie them into the environment nicely. The fading whitewash on the SU is incredibly well done- it has a great faded quality and mixed with the various weathering elements looks very realistic. Thanks for sharing this with us Gary, its a really great piece.

Love the SU series of tanks. Awesome job, really conveys the feel of the thaw. Love the figures too! Surprised I haven't seen you building any before this.

Great stuff as always

Hello fellas,

Thanks for all the kind words, i sure appreciate it.

Christopher, I just wanted to keep it simple and not cram as much stuff as i could on it. Less is more on this one, Its about the SU-100 and the Chaps....Vlad and Fred.

Cheers,
Gary

Gary,

Beautiful work! I gotta admit I think the SU-100 looks better than the Jagdpanther. Your groundwork and muddy running gear is great and your figures are excellent!

Hey Gary, sorry for the late addition. I thought I had already commented on this little jewel on the other site, but just saw that I hadn't. Anyway, nicely done all around, especially the figures.

I do have one point that, after looking at this numerous times, I've finally been able to put my finger on. While the outside of the tracks look like they're covered in rather wet mud, the inner sides look amazing clean and dry. Seems to me that mud that wet would've been pushed up through the tracks as the tank rolled over it. Am I misinterpreting something?
