Hi all!
I am starting this new dio of mine ahd I'd like to share it with you the building procedure.
Still no pictures yet, but the idea is as follows:
- setting: factory riuns somewhere on the eastern front;
- subject: T34-76 hit, destroyed and burnt out;
- a fiew men (german?) on patrol nearby (still undecided about that).

The subject is a 1:35 AFV Club T34-76 offering. When I saw it a fiew years back i bought it immediately as the idea of the diorama already formed in my mind, but then, it just landed in the stash and staied there to season up a bit... now it is high time to dig it out and destroy it!

Are you using the AFV Club T34/76 with full interior kit? That would be kool. Check out this guys work for ideas.

yes, the clear hull...
this is something I really don't like... I mean I can understand why the put it there, but I don't like it. Why I bought it? .... well, acting on impulses I guess...

Anyway, the clear part are well done but they are too smooth for a real T34, also the plastic is very hard and fragile: not easy to cut and brack to my needs... so if you have in mind something similar, David suggestion is better.

I'll take some picture soon, so stay tuned!

You can paint the clear hull. I think the detail is still on the hull, it's just happens to be clear.
Maybe use the clear hull to show the dead crew members inside? Kinda gross but it's an idea.
Not sure if there's any figures of Russian tankers evacuating their tank, I know Master Box makes a nice set of German figures.

seems what I did as a child with my brother: set fire to a model and call it the day!
very fun times... (where not for the screams of mom... )

Hi all!
some time has passed and it is about time to start showing you how my work has progressed.
First I had to deal with the upper part of the tank where the round hit. As I already said the clear plastic is very hard and very fragile too, so it was really hard to acheive a realistic damage effect. Also it is completely smooth! Way too much for a T-34... so I tried to get a more realistic look by sand paper it, not enought... so I applied some glue to soft the plastic and tapped it with my fingers. Unfortunately this ruined the saldering seams that were redone wit a melted rod.
Anyway... this is the result:





I started also the factory wall.





Lastly, I'll show you a pole I made that will find its role somewhere in the factory.

Hi guys!
Even if the kit of the T-34 I am building has square external fuel tanks, I like the external drums best, so I'd like to add those to my build instead.
Serching the net it appears to me that T34-76 had both options available (and even no external fuel tank at all), so this appears not to be a problem.
I also have build a couple of fuel drums before, so that would not be a problem either.
My concern is the size and the mount...
do you have any drawings from which I could be inspired?

Hi all!
It has been a while since my last post, but I did not seat on my hands!
Thrue enought, applying rust and such is much a longer process than I previously thougt, so progress is a slow one...
Nevertheless, here are some update: I hope you'll enjoy!!

A time line of the weathering process of the tank interior: salt is applied over a coat of gun metal and rust

Then the interior colour is spried on.

Salt is removed:


Some parts are added and the weathering process begins:

For that I use a mix of real rust and pastels.

One of the chairs (scratchbuilt) is ready to be placed:
