Hey,
that is a nice build you have there. I got one on order now. Looking forward to it. I even order the Friulmodel tracks. This will be my first Soviet armour build from Trumpeter. I'm a little disapointed from my T 90 Build by Zvenda. The road wheel supports keep breaking. And I gave up. Back on the shelf it went. May be this T 80 will help me "pop the cherry" in Modern Soviet armour. Is there any good referance books that would be a good investment?

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,
if you're just looking for photos there's plenty online but if you're interested in the development of the T-80, Ospreys'
book is a good start.

I would like to do a triple build in the future with this kit, the T-80BVD and Zvezda's T-80U using after market tracks and maybe PE as well.

I have the DML T-80 SMT m1989 which is the same as the Zvezda T-80UD. Here it is compared to my Ukrainian T-80U build (DML kit is the black one, in case you are wondering).

I would say that you are MUCH better off building the X-act Scale T-80U, unless that is what you meant all along!

What would suggest for a paint scheme for Second Chechen War?

I don't think the BV was used in the 2nd Chechan War, just T-62M's and T-72B w/ERA.
