Hi all!
I'm waiting for my Fennek,do you know if are there walkarounds of the dutch version?!AFIK there are only walkarounds here:
http://www.panzer-modell.de/
but they are for the german versions....maybe a book?!or...can you spot errors in the model?!From what I've understand in the review on panzer-modell there's a "error" about the engine deck..but I'm not able to spot it...cause I haven't good references...
TIA
Ciro

Jon,as the review over panzer-modell says...it seems to be correct as a dutch version but I cannot be sure cause I haven't references for this version.

Hans-Hermann,thank you!I'll wait to know about the tankograd book.I've also seen the walkarounds over Prime Portal, there are a couple of sets of the Dutch version and from what I've understand the review over Panzer-Modell points out the absence of the two bazooka(?) and their supports. At least I hope....cause I'm not able to get a top view...who knows?!

Hi Ciro,
what I`ve learned that the Dutch Army uses several version of the Fennek. BTW the Fennek is primarily a Dutch vehicle since it´s design is from DAF SP Special Products company. So far we need to know which variants have been photographed on Primeportal. The designation LGS Leichtes Geschütztes Spähfahrzeug (Light Armored Reconnaisance Vehicle) is the term for the Fennek used by the German Bundeswehr. Apart of this, the Bundeswehr use the Pionierkunder(Combat Engineer Recon) and Joint Fire Support.
Hans-Hermann
P.S. It not the first time that Trumpeter/HobbyBoss confuses the version of the models

The following Dutch versions of the Fennek exist:
1. light reconnaissance and guarding vehicle
2. the same with HF radio
3. forward art obs/air control vehice
4. medium range AT
5. the same with HF radio
6. general use (pioneers, commanders, light mortars)
7. the same with HF radio
8. Stinger platform
The Dutch versions have all, except the Stinger version, a .50 remote control heavy MG. The Germans do use their own type of close defense MG.

:-) thank you! Some light over the world of this vehicle.I've received a reply from Thomas Hartwig, webmaster of Panzer-Modell.de that explains me the "note" and the "error" in the kit.Nothing that can't be corrected!
From the study(a quick view of the kit's photos and real photos)Trumpeter Fennek seems to be a dutch version with the omission of the two anti-tank tube launchers and their supports.Also....as an "error" we have the presence of an antenna near the last hatch that shouldn't be there cause it's a German feature. Also the M2 pointed out by Paul is ok...it's in the kit...once I'll have it im my hand I'll do a better research....but from what I can see from the photo on the net it's really a great kit!

Hi Ciro,
the absence of the two tubes is CORRECT on the model!
It just depends which version you take.

oh yes....from what I've learned Dutch Fennek can or not carries the tube launchers...as you say it depends from the version.
Paul....without the launchers....which version can I depict?!I bet that the interiors are different...but if I only wanna be accurate with the exterior....?!?

Hi Ciro,
Since I do not have the model myself, I suggest that you post a picture of the decals and/or the build scheme.
I could tell you which vehicle type belongs to which unit.
I do not know yet of any after market decal set yet, but maybe I can 'arrange' some pictures of the ones, which belong to my brigade. That would be the recon/guard type, the general use type and the AT type.

Dear Ciro,
Thanks for the swift reply.
Any tactical identification sign is missing!
For a Dutch based unit, you do miss decals.
Now, there are a few options:
1. You stick to the box and you build a Fennek, which served in Afghanistan. The ISAF decals will do. Though e.g. 11 Tank Bat used the Fennek in a recon role, their tactical signs were mostly covered.
Since for tactical reasons tactical signs were, more or less, regulary, covered (with tape, clay and alike), you could complete a model like that.
Also, you can use a locally used camouflage technique, using smeared dirt over the whole basic vehicle.
Examples can be found at:
https://www.google.com/search?q=fennek+afghanistan&espv=210&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=dWnrUr6HLITX0QW_wYGgDg&ved=0CCoQsAQ&biw=1680&bih=899
2.You build a Dutch based vehicle and 'cover' the (missing) tactical signs with small tape, like done in real exercises.
see:
https://www.google.com/search?q=fennek+koninklijke+landmacht&espv=210&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=3mjrUurSG-bO0QXwsYHIBQ&ved=0CD8QsAQ&biw=1680&bih=862
3. You wait for the response by a (Dutch) after market decal set.
4. You accept the lack of tactical decals!
5. You print them yourself, using yhe following site:
http://www.militairevoertuigen.com/content/2013/05/TACTISCHE-SYMBOLEN

Frenchy!too bad yes....but maybe Tactical Markings can be in other boxes...I've some leos...I need to check them..
Paul, can you confirm that the antenna and the device on her right is a German feature and not a dutch one?!
The first photo is a German version.
(Thanks to Thomas Hartwing for the photos).
Cover the TM could be a good idea but I also hope in some aftermakets.

Sorry,
No sooner than coming Monday I will rerturn to the barracks to check your question.
Though, I am pretty sure that we don´t have antenna´s there!
Any respons from the Germans????!!!!
Beware: since the Dutch Army has sold all its Leopards, the tank battalion decals can only be used for a period until spring 2013.
But for infantery and recon units, the ´borrowed´ ones might be OK! Also, pioneer decals or brigade staff decals can be used.
Maybe, one of the Black Lion owners is willing to (re-)act.
They are the closest to the source and know exactly how the Dutch tactical sign system work, I presume, based on the quality of their other decal series.
Just contact them via:
http://www.blackliondecals.nl/contactus.htm
I just did!

Hi Paul, thank you for the great support!I'll contact blackliondecal just to know if they'll do something for Fennek!I really hope that voyager or another aftermarket company makes a good pe set(maybe with the slat armor?!)but right now I'm happy that the kit will be ok for a "standard" version!
If you can take photos of yours Fenneks this would be great! If it is possible,of course!!
Thanks!

I have to be very careful, since photographing of military equipment IN the barracks is very restricted.
Due to my rank, people will be very argus eyed if I turn up in the vehicle pool. Probably, they start following strict procedures for everything, therefore, seeing a col taking pictures of mil id stickers will create questions!!!
But I will do my best to send you some.
