would anyone be interested in a british/commonweath group build?
any vehicle( as long as it has armour!), any commonwealth nation or regiment, with the intent of building as many different vehicles as possible!
i think a good rule would be no identical models, if you want to build the same vehicle, it must be a different mark, colour scheme, nationality etc.
oh yes, and another rule, armour shall be spelt correctly by all who enter!
let me know what you think!
cheers

Indeed old chap! I, too, am very much interested in this group build of armour. I'd be delighted to join in this group build if you will allow me to do so.
However, may I humbly suggest that we schedule it on a period after, perhaps, the M1 group build, say during the latter half of March until the last week of April or the second week of May? I look forward answering the call of Her Majesty the Queen to produce two 1/35 scale models of the Challenger I and Challenger II. I have started these two but barely, practically 90% unbuilt, the reason being that Twilight 2000 has put me off course on my love of the Challenger MBT. If you will permit me, I will enter these two for this proposed group build, so that I may be able to finish them and display them on me bookshelf.

why restrict it to armour? The commonwealth used a lot of softskins which are pretty interesting as well.

thanks for the replies,
yes jim british armour, after all its the english language! #:-)
what about end dates? i think it would be a good idea to fit this around the other gb's and campaigns running at the same time
im gonna submit my staghound mk1, in 7th armoured markings,
good point roo, also i have a resicast bedford QRL waiting for my attention!
why not open it up to softskins too, the main reason i proposed this gb is too generate interest in british and commonweath models, as they usually dont get much attention!
cheers

Hey Joe
Count me in. I planned on getting that new tooled Firefly by Dragon after the first of the year anyway. Besides a group build on British armour sounds fun.

Sounds jolly good to me... my wife saw an illustration of fascine tank (an AVRE, if I recall correctly) and she said, "Ooo, why don't you build one of those?" Gives me yet another kit to buy, and a chance to do some scratch-building that can actually be seen (instead of just replacing small parts eaten by the rug monster).

Choices, choices, choices.
DML Valentine III
Tamiya Cromwell IV
Tamiya Quad and 25 pounder, assuming soft skins are OK.
Tamiya Matilda, assuming my daughter followed my very specific instructions for Christmas.
Tamiya SAS Jeep
Tamiya Churchill
In a word YES I'm interested.
As for the spelling, I can't even spell American, let alone British.
Question, is is amourama over there?

How about that! I've threatening for a long time on this site to build a Tamiya Jeep with the Legend SAS conversion set I have.
At my normal rate of production, I probably won't finish it in time but count me in anyways!

I'd like to join this build. The older WW2 British tanks interest me and I think I have a Matchbox Churchill AVRE kicking around somewhere.

Fine idea - if it's later in the Spring then I'd love to join in too.
I've never modeled a fine armour subject from England or the Commonwealth before - high time to do so!

count me in as well.i've got a dingo and a bren gun carrier to build . i assume there are no stipulations in this ARMOUR build , such as ootb.the reason for asking is quite a few of the British armour kits are a little long in the tooth.

Count me in as well. I got at least half a dozen unfinished ones on my bench, and waiting new shipments from Accurate armour and Cromwell, also reserved a couple Maquette kits with the local dealer.

great, thanks for all the replies,
the interest really has surprised me, i was only expecting half a dozen or so people to get involved, so this is great,
my original idea was for a ww2 build, but with this level of interest, as long as its british/commonwealth i dont mind about eras, or scale for that matter.
in terms of dates, i think start straight away, and how does may 1st sound for an end date?
does that give enough time after the other campaigns etc have finnished?
im going to start a thread on armorama-uk for this, but its locked out here at work, so got to wait until i have time at home,
if you have any further thoughts or ideas, please post them
cheers

We used to have lots of UK vehicles down here but Italy is definitely not part of the Commonwealth. Can an exception be done for a Commonwealth vehicle wit Italian Cavalry markings? If so pse count me in!

That would be great !
I don't know if I'll have the time because I already have so much started... but if I have the time, be assured I'll join !
And I don't know what I'd build...
