They are a bit longer than 2/3. I did meassure the magazine and cut them to size. Although the exact shape is impossible to acheive. but thanks for the observation.

Hey Marcos. After years of modeling I chose to do the South Pacific , V.Nam and kores as my interest area. I do alot of jungle vegitation as a result. The use of natural and artifical plants is the way to go as far as I am concerned. It gives you a flexability you can't seem to achive with just one or the other. For blosomed flowers the pre-made ones from the M.R.C. is great and the paper and plastic ones by Busch are also great. All my trees start out as tree roots and the leaves are natural and paper, what ever I find that works. Your vegitation has come out very nicely done. The creepers hanging from the trees are good and add that flavor you need to convey jungle. Along the river bank the growth would be pretty explosive but as you go in from the water the bottom layers will thin out as the large trees shadow the sunlight. Great form with the growth you portrayed. Your figures came out real good and the story you started with has retained itself through the build. Some times a hard thing to accomplish as we try to add this or that which at times results in the movement of figures that support each other for the story. Unfortunatly the water had problems with the cracking. I use the product called inviro-tex. A 2 part clear resin that you can tint. Never had cracking or lifting. Can be P/U in a small set of 4 onces each bottle. Last me a long time as it goes for my streams and river banks. For spent casings, try and find a copper wire the right diameter and just snip off all you need, fast and simple. All in all, I think your dio has come out very well indeed. Very good craftmanship in putting it together, Nice looking figures and a chopper to boot. The story is there and you don't even need a name plate to explain what it is about. Job well done and a peice of art work you should be proud of. bob d.

Marcos, you have noticed that the helmet of the soldier touching his cover with his hand is the standard Tamiya helmet, small and boring. It is in contrast to the others (Verlinden etc) and you could/should (?) perhaps wrap a rubber band around a small item (oil flask, insect repellent, fags, o.s.) in order to blend it in.
Just a suggestion!
Cheers

Too bad about the shrinking/cracked water. Every time I check in here it gets better and better my friend.
I agree the shell casings seem a bit long but not many people will notice that. Just to be clear,a good soldier never leaves his empty magazines! They go back in the ammo pouch for re-loading. Of course, there are always exceptions. Heheheh Like when the "pucker factor" gets too high.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially declaring this Project done! It took me a bit longer than I expected, but I am happy with the result. I want to thank all of you for your tips and suggestions, and all the encouraging comments. The problem with the water effect seems to have been solved successfully by adding several thin layers to cover the cracks. You can judge for yourselves. This was a project that I had been wanting to do for several years, and I must admit that I had a lot of fun working on it. In addition, sharing the process in Armorama and getting all your feedback was great. Blessed be the internet! Again, Thank you all!

Really great looking dio Marcos.
Nice job on the airborne chopper, plants and figures.
Good thinking on making the footprints wet and the drag marks with just a hint of blood.
Be looking for your next project.

I have been thinking of a title for the diorama. A couple of ideas I like are: "Charlie right flank!" or "Contact right flank!” Any suggestions?

In its place on the shelve. Right above "Clear!".

Hi Marcos - I can't help with the official name of your build, but can just say it looks great - all around! You accomplished plenty in a very small space, and it looks right on!
