Haven't been over for a while, so I thought I'd visit and wish all a very Merry Christmas!! (:-)
Here are the latsest pics of my Zvezda M13/40 to be depicted as a North Africa campaign item.
Numerous scratchbuilt items include the radiator housing at the rear to depict a later M13/40. The Kit is rubbish and I would not recommend it. However, Friul tracks are always worthwhile.
See ya soon.

Nice job Martin, especially the weathering and the muffler looks great.

Desert:
Nice work here on a vehicle that is a little more unusual. Your weathering on the muffler makes it look so real --- care to share how you achieved that look? The sag on the Friuls always lends so much authenticity to a kit---very nice.
The paint/weathering/chipping is well done --- making this one look like it has been around the block a few times. Looks like once the other set of tracks are on, she's done.
This is just me, but I might consider softening the black on the end of the gun tube - unless they did soot up that much? --- I don't know --- but I do know, this one is a very very nice build. Congrats.

great work!
well done and painted!
the weathering is very nice like also the rust!
I did the semovente 75/18 by ZVEZDA, it's a discreet kit....
but if you want to do italian subject you have to buy the cheaper zvezda or the expensive resin kit by italian brand, and they are great!

Very good job Martin! In my view there's too much "black" around the end of the gun and the tracks have got a bit too much sag...

Thanks chaps. I agree about the soot....way too much got carried away I think.
The paint chipping was done using my tried and tested method in my article here at armorama.
Here is a link to the article for you in case you missed it:
chipping article
The exhaust muffler was completed with a rough mixture of my own rust made with wire wool immersed in simple water, after a time....rust.
This was coupled together with some MIG pigments of various tones. Still not that happy with the result but...hey.
The tank will have a few more things added like sandbags and 'jerry' cans.
The insignia on the turret is hand painted.
Merry Christmas all !!! (:-) (:-) (:-)

The tank looks great for the most part. But in my opinion, the bluish-gray tint of the leaf springs and the return rollersneed more weathering, or a better scale tint.
To me, that is what throws off the whole model.

Lord Martinus,
This is fine looking piece of model you got there! Where have you been lately? Man.
The chip is real good, yeah the blackening on the barrel is a tad too much, but you never knew, could had fired a lot of rounds.
AWESOME WORK!

This looks great...love the chipping and the sand covered/dusty look....
One thing...I would paint the springs the same as the tank....then wash in the gaps....
Other than that small point....it is great

Nice one Martin. Overall this looks a very cool subject and a little unusual. I like your choice of sand colour. The chips are amazing and the added tip-feature will be helpful in the future. I have to agree with Petro and Slaphead, about the springs. These would have been sprayed the same sand colour as well.
Sheeesh! You cant please some people! I thought you made a brilliant job of it. I really like the different tones from a leather type colour progressing to black nearer the ends. Wish I was as unhappy with some of my results! I have the Tamiya version of this, and it could be something I put together very shortly thanks to this.

Very nice work so far. Your paint scratching looks very convincing, as does the sun-bleached paint. Always good to see some WWII Italian armor out there.
Cheers !!

Thanks Gentlemen!!
Glad to hear the comments....constructive ones too!!
Hope to get this finished by the time we move home.
The springs will be painted as I was not sure about the colour, it is difficult to make out on the B&W photos I have.
Have a VERY merry Christmas to you all!!!! (:-) (:-) (:-) (:-)
