The Mk 3 and Mk 5 did not have different turret shells, whatever aftermarket manufacturers might wnat you to think. The only difference is that the 3 had a coa-ax Besa and the 5 had a .30 Browning, so it was relatively easy to chnage one to another. The turret casting evolved over time, so that the loader's periscope moved to the sloping part of the roof but that has never been a diagnostic feature.
