Hello
I am working on some 1/48 British kits and I have them painted the AK British Sand Yellow and I was wondering what would be the best way to lighten the color? Would it be white or should I go with yellow or a buff?
Thanks
Jeff

Sand in sunlight moves towards white, rather than deeper (yellow or buff).
The deeper colors are more complicated because just adding white to a base color where white is the minority of the bases will tend to change the actual color - like red to pink, or blue to baby blue, etc..
A base color like sand whose base color starts with a majority of white that's tinted with others to become sand.. can be properly lightened with white.

Thanks Bruce. I have heard stories of colors going wrong when adding white. Good to know and makes sense as well.
