Hello all!

It has been a few weeks since I could post any pictures because I used up all of my photobucket bandwith! I did manage to finish it up! I finished the rubble using celluclay to build up the pile. Then I added bricks made from cork and foam core board with the paper stripped off. Then when that was done drying I painted it all gray. I then sprinkled some real smashed brick bits on while the paint was drying. I went back and painted the bricks one-by-one using different brick colors.

I added a nazi flag and some propaganda posters which I printed off from the internet. I decided to weather the building a little more by using Vallejo weathering pigments.

I added a lot of spent shell casings to the rubble cutting gold wire into small pieces and attaching them with white glue. I then added the figures and it was finished!

Enjoy!

I'll post a few more pictures later when I have time.

I've never seen veneer mason blocks laid over individual bricks before.

It is very very common in Europe and in the USA.

In Europe, big urban buildings dating from 19th and early 20th century are (nearly) all sporting veneer blocks!

And as Jerry said, the east of the US is full of them as well!

wow... figures, setting, rubble... simply amazing...

any special treatment on the flag? it looks almost real

But aprat from all that prise, the are some thing IŽd mention:
the Panzerfaust looks like plastic and the tiles (esp. on the undamaged wall) could take a bit more varaition...
all in all nothing that coulnŽd be cured with a little wasing

Enjoying this one. I agree with Fabian's comment on the Panzerfaust. A brown wash will probably do it. If you have the after market decals for it that would cinch it up.

Hi Ryan,

lots of good points there, but maybe also a couple of weaknesses!??

First, I would add half a ton of dust! Don't get me wrong, I myself too prefer my bathroom clean, but after that treatment, the building has pulverised some of its substance!

Second, and that's a tricky bit, those bricks (and partly the tiles as well) are too evenly spread, too "intact" and too "isolated". It looks more like..."I can put one over here, and then...." rather than a blast has catapulted them at random (do I make sense at all? ). This goes for the top of the wall as well! The bricks would be drowned in a real bed of dirt and dust and small rubble. Some "half" bricks and small stones combined with some sand would help.

I loooove the newspaper and the swastika flag!!!! Absolutely stunning!!

Great show overall!! Thanks a bunch for taking us along the project!!

Cheers

Romain

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! I printed some decals for the panzerfaust and gave it a wash. I am now working on adding more dust and debris. I'll post pictures when I am done!

Thanks

I think I am going to call this one done now. I added a decal to the panzerfaust and gave it a brown wash. I also gave a wash to the bathroom tiles and added some more dust to the bathroom using Vallejo weathering pigments. I also added some small broken up bricks to the rubble and then gave the rubble a coat of dust using Vallejo pigments again.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! You have helped me improve this diorama!

Enjoy!
