Well, here is my Faun Elephant and Leopard 2A5.
The Faun is of course Trumpeter's and the leopard is Tamiya's. I built these sattraight out of the box. I had the cab of the Faun together and painted when Eduard released there photo etch set for it, DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I need to add is some black and tackle for the trailer and some crew gear for both of them.
So what do you think.

Looking good ....... well as far as I can see. The pictures aren´t really that clear as far as commenting on anything. But Im sure you´ve done an excellent job. Trumpeter have become my new favourite comapny. I have the leopold waiting for sometime next year and this transporter is something that i will definately be purchasing. I have a german M88 on the workbench (revell) at the moment and this would make a nice load as well.
How was the overall build-fit? Would you recommend the kit? Thanks

Howdy Epi,
Your Faun is lookiing great! This is on my 'todo' bench and in the batter's box. So, any info or particular's you could share with us all regarding the build-up would be appreciated. :-)
Your photos look like mine, meaning, not very clear. I'm hoping to get a digital camera with macro capabilities for Xmas (fingers crossed (:-)), so I can take better pics. I don't make the big paychecks like most of the other members here at Armorama ( ) so I can't take the great shots some of the others seem to do.
I guess I need to start making the six figure salaries like you guys!

That's a really cool subject - almost makes me not want a DW (ok that feeling is gone, now I want both).
It looks very well executed from the photos.
One question I have is about the tie downs? Would there be any chains holding the AFV down?

Thanks for sharing Epi - I haven't touched my kit yet. Got other things going at the moment. I thought the kit was pretty darned complete in the box - do you think it needed the Eduard photoetch set?
I haven't really decided what subject I want to park on my buildup, but the Leopard looks nice sitting there on yours...

Ditto on Gunnie's request. I plan to pick one up this week. Any info or shortfalls with the kit would be of help. Yours looks great from the photos you posted.

Pete,
Your Faun looks great! Pictures are not very clear but it seems you did a great job on this one!
I also have one on the box pile - I want to put Leopard 2A4 on it.
I have just one little request: Please don't call it Elephant! It is not even Elefant Faun Elefant is a different vehicle (8x8). Trumpeter model is lighter Faun Franziska (6x8).
Rgds,
Pawel

Come on now you have built about 5 or 6 models in two months.
I thought Dave was the one with the elves how many do you have working for you!
Do you ever sleep?
Great build on both of them (:-) (:-) (:-)

SgtReef,
I guess you can say I have Ansomnia. I got use to sleeping short night in the military, so I really cant break that habit. I usually work at night for about 5 or 6 hours.
Slodder,
Thats the Block and Tacle I have to add - chains, wooden blocks, etc.
Guntruck,
I think it did need the photo etch set. If you noticed in yours, the dash is lacking any detail. The photo etch set has the instrument film and also has all the bulk heads and framing It would make a definate improvement on the cab.
The only thing I didnt like about this kit was the instruction, well yes the lack of detail in the cab. The instruction shows the cabling and wiring for the top, but not show anything for the bottom or even wher some of those cables on top ended up at.
So in my opinion, this kit isnt for the in-experiance modeller.
NOW LETS SEE IF TRUMPETER WILL TACKLE THE M1070 HET AND IS IT THE BRITISH SCAMMEL IN PLASTIC FOR US POOR GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks good. I too would be interested in anyone's feedback on the phot etch set. i've got one in the mail. I plan to convert the trailer to a four axle version and put a Leopard C1 on the back. How are the tires?

EPI:
Looks good, I'd like to see some lighter photos though. That might just be a matter of turing up the lights a bit (that one candle just doens't cut it!!!).
I have this one sitting around as well, and I'm pulling for a HET. I'd put my money on Trumpeter to be the first to market with the HET.
