Hi,
Looking to see what's a good quality brush for painting figures
I have a few from Tamiya and Testors and they just don't hold up
Any recommendations?
Thank you!

Hello Sean,
Invest in Kolinsky Red Sable brushes in various sizes.
A bit pricey but well taken care of...will last a very
long time.
Cheers,
Joe

I have purchased a few Grumbacher brushes from a local art supply store. O, 10/0, 20/0 & 30/0. Seem to work well for me and will last a long time if taken care of.

Raphael kolinsky sable is good the windsor & newton kolinsky sable are considered the best. If you have a Dick Blick you might check there but they are scarce in the USA right now. A really good high end art store might stock them and if all else fails check Amazon. They will set you back about $15 each brush, no kidding. But when you see the quality difference you'll understand why.

Thanks Damon, yeh I like to invest in some decent brushes. I'll check an arts supply store. This way I can actually look and touch, rather then buying over the internet

Michael's Craft Store has them and they are fairly common.
Sign up for their email list, wait for a 40% off your entire purchase coupon, then go buy your Winsor & Newton sables!

Ok guys, talking about brushes: I use Italeri brushes from years and I normally buy them at model shop. Almost all sizes I need, at about 3-4 eur each. I consider they are a good balance between price and quality. But recently (and this is crazy) I found Kolinsky brushes somewherelse...

... I found Kolinsky brushes at ENAILSTORE. Good size and quality, at about 6 eur each.
I saw the brushes in the window. then I gone there to buy some brushes one time. I felt really ridiculous. I cannot imagine what they thought...

If you can find some, Raphael 8404 series are the best to me.
