Well it will start off as big red tractor but not sure what colour to go with as yet as only one left in a Russian museum and that looks grey all over but not sure that was the field colour

Considering when it was made and the fact that it never left the test site grey would be a safe bet.
When you do the steering chains on the back make sure they are fairly tight. A lot of people model these with sag in them because of the photos floating around on line. That's not correct. Most of those pictures were taken after the Russian's found it wrecked and stripped out. The chains were basically just tied up, out of the way. When it was all intact, the chains needed to be tight in order to steer it, otherwise the back wheel would have just bounced around.

Hi Bob thanks for that Info might even consider the wrecked look for it with a well weathered look to the grey paint

OK BIG red tractor primed now for the colour Fifty shades of grey or go for one of the box offerings and do fifty shades of sand yellow
Or even do a mix of both in a work shop scene

Decided to go for the work shop prototype out on trials with a fifty shades of red oxide and a splash of rust
PRE shaded using dark grey for the join lines and light grey for the inner pannels
And the rusted panels are a mix of red oxide and dark yellow

More work done on the wheels I have painted the track pads face with MR colour metal coat Iron with these paints you can get a shine on the painted area just by rubbing over your finger when the paint is dry the one on the right has been polished and the left just the painted look
Next up was the aplication of the rust on the wheel sides using Mip pigments and ground up chalk pastels to get a dirty rust colour this was fixed in place with matt varnish
The track pads face area was then brushed down to take away the exsess and show through the polished areas on the faces

Nicely done, looks dry and rusty, almost hear it squeaking and clanking from here.
