Is this a real release or just a spoiler on the other two announcements? It has been several years since they announced their 75mm pack howitzer. I hope they back this up with some proof.

I agree. How about their M48? They announced last year to be released by the end of the summer. They even showed parts yet a year later and no word.

One of their first announcements following the M35A2 was the M109 2.5 ton Shelter truck back in 1995 (?). Also announced were the M977 HEMTT and Transportpanzer 1 Fuchs. Any questions?

Hope they aren't fooling us because of the three, the AFV one would be my first choice.

This sounds quite promising! Hope it'll have similar features and detail like their previous releases.

For my own 2 cents worth, it seems way too often that when ONE company brings out a kit, the REST are not far behind. Someone here stated that there are thousands of ideas out there for kits and along comes THREE with the SAME darn kit...!! Happens all the time. Just what is with model companies...?
Are they THAT afraid of trying something new...? Are we modelers expecting too much from them..? Do modelers have such high expectations that companies are afraid to go out on a limb with a new and "different" kit...?

Just askin

Well...considering both AFV and Kinetic have and M109 right now I can believe them.... Rich may just be bovine scatoligist in the group. Now the question is the AFV would be a more desirable as long as it has a complete interior set?

The plot thickens and the redlegs are loving it!!

Rounds Complete!!

do what I do with mine: Feel happy that you have one, at least until the other ones actually turns up in shops. Or build it quickly to help the rest of the world to get their kits quicker ;-)

They are working independently of one another. When one company announces kit X, and you know the same subject is in your development line but maybe months behind your competitor, you release an announcement (just like AFV Club just did) to temper the excitement and pre-orders for your competitors' kits. Business is a no-holds-barred affair. A dollar out of your competition's pocket may end up in your pocket and you're going to fight for it.

This has happened before (the DML Jumbo Sherman?) and will happen again. Now that companies are drilling more and more, it'll be no surprise that we get multiples. Snap up the ones you like, folks. These can be very costly for smaller companies and can be devastating to their bottom line and indeed, to their very existence.

(now why doesn't someone announce new M10s, M36s, M18s, M29s or Chevy 1.5ton trucks?)

It has been quite in this topic for a while. I have contacted AFV Club, Riich and Kinetic, but none of them ever replied.
